Who makes good magazines for these guns? I saw the 21rd ones from sign but is there a way to get more in there? Or are those the ones people use in limited?

From what I understand the only reason that was recommended to me was to avoid the stepped brass. I figure I'll just be inspecting my brass anyway before loading so stepped brass isn't really gonna be an issue. That whole stepped brass thing seems like a really bad idea from some small ammo manufacturers.

I wound up getting a 2011 and have a Limcat on the way. Should be here in May! Ordered in December. Not sure what their wait time is now though. Didn't know that about HS-6 at minor PF. That's good to know. At the moment I guess I'll be trying HS-6 and Autocomp for major. What other powders are good to try for major?

Is there any difference between nickel plated brass and normal brass? Also can I swap bullets in the reloading recipes I find in a book? IE if it calls for Berry's 124's can I put MG CMJ 124's? I would assume the primary difference between the two bullet types would be the seating depth and OAL. That would result in higher pressure right? I am working on finding a load for 9mm major but would like to also be able to use the same powder for 9 minor in the mean time as I am waiting to get my open gun. Here is an example of the recipe in question.

What are you running for ear pro when shooting open? I have decent muff I use for shooting my AR that has a epsilon brake one it. Are open guns louder than AR’s with a brake? For double ear pro would you just get some foamier or is there a nicer option that I’m missing?

Do they make dies for the 750 to trim and put a chamfer on the brass? Or do I need to do that all separately?

I'm kinda trying to figure out when to pull the trigger on the press. I wont have a gun to shoot 9 major until may-ish but would like to get the press earlier. I guess I just buy it for .223 and get it set up for that. Ill end up buying the conversion kit for 9 whenever it comes in i 'spose. A conversion is like $300 if I am thinking about it right. My problem is that I know I will end up wanting the 750 for 9 as that is the whole point of getting a press. But in the mean time I guess i might as well just load .223

Ive done shotshell reloading for what it's worth on a progressive MEC it didn't auto index but I'm not entirely new to the reloading world. I'm kinda leaning to the 750 at this point. Sure there will be a learning curve but between loading shotshell for a couple years and YouTube I think I should be fine.

Is the DAA alpha X compatible with the safarilands ELS belt? Are there adapter or do I need to get the DAA belt?

What about the Hornady Lock N Load progressive? Attachment wise it's the same. What would the pros and cons be between the two?

This might be frowned upon but what about a Hornady Lock n Load AP? How does that stack up to the 550? The auto indexing is kinda nice and having five stations is a plus.

9mm at least 1K/month 223 4-500 308 1-200. If I shoot more 9 I might just get a dedicated press.

Run all the brass through once and then load? Do most of you who load rifle just have a case trimmer? I don't have to trim pistol brass at least from what I've seen right?

Is there even space on the 550 for a trimmer? 4 spots, I'd need prime/deprime, powder, seating, crimp. Does trimming get done on a separate machine?

So I am getting into the world of reloading and I have 3 calibers id like to load. 9mm, .223, and .308. I'm looking at a 550. Id imagine i'll load mostly 9 followed by .223 and .308. I'd it be best to just get separate toolheads and leave the dies set. Would separate powder measures also be worth it?

I think you are in the same position as me except with the dominant eye switched. You are going to naturally bring your gun up to your dominant eye. I am cross eye dominant (left eye is 20/15 right eye is definitely not 20/20 haha). I shoot pistols right handed but bring the pistol to my left eye. I ended up re-learning to shoot rifles and shotguns with my left hand That being said, are you able to get a clear sight picture both eyes open when bringing the gun up to your natural aim point (IE behind your right eye)? If not the tape solution is a good idea. I'd suggest finding a way to slowly get used to both eyes open. Out of curiosity are you left handed or right handed?

I picked up a Safariland Holster system and was looking to get the mag pouches with the magnets on them but I cant seem to get the option to come up. Do they not make em? How do you like the Safariland Holster vs. the Double Alpha?

Are the MBX para 9mm magazines compatible with any of the 2011's or are they two separate things?

So I had some issues with my grip safety on my RIA 1911. The grip safety was not functioning and still allowed the gun to be fired when the grip safety was not depressed. I tried fixing it but that went poorly. I know I'm gonna need to get a new one. Are the replacements just drop in and your good to go or do they need to be tuned. I don't wanna end up in the same spot I'm in now.

I am gonna send it in to Hayes and have him take a look at it. I also noticed that the grip just seems to have alot of pokey corners. Has anyone had experience with 2011's is the grip size similar albeit better with edges that aren't sharp?

I am having issues with this gun cycling. It seems like every now and then it will just have a Little hang up and stove pipe. I'm hesitant to run with the gun as I have a Springfield XD that works perfectly. I run MBX mags exclusively but the failure to ejects are kinda sporadic. What would it take money wise to have a Smith look through everything and make it right?

Okay sounds basically all those are 2 hours away. Man I'm surprised there matches any closer. It thought surely academi in Moyock would have some matches held there.

Where are matches in Virginia Beach Virginia. I looked on the USPSA website but there were only 2 thats looked to be in the area and they were both indoors. I don't like shooting indoors at all. I've found some where I live now that aren't listed on the USPSA website so I was curious if that was the same over there.
