  1. Anything that is pinned/welded to a barrel that makes the barrel 16 inches is legal. I weld up solid rounds to tubes to make linear comps in order to be legal.
  2. Looks like the typical "we don't have it yet, but will sometime in the future, so sign up so we can sell it as soon as they are shipping to dealers" ploy. Anyone know what these will weigh?
  3. Can you share the diameter of your suppressor and what handguard did you use?
  4. My Vortex Venom battery has been in since May, weekend matches, classes and practice. I turn it on during my safety check and off at the end of the match. Supposed to last at least 150 hours on highest setting.
  5. So, it seems that firing pins will break and the only consideration is how long your personal setup will last. Maybe looking through these posts will help people decide. Personally, my CMMG Guard seems to be immune from this. Have any other Guard users had a firing pin problem? On my CMMG Colt, my original firing pin looked like it was taking some hits after about 4,000 rounds and I replaced it. Have not shot it much after getting the Guard.
  6. Well, the Guard, stock, has a light BCG (no weights) and a light (3.0 oz) buffer. As far as I can tell, this works with most of the off-the-shelf ammo, which is the goal. I don't think the goal is to "NOT to have a giant hunk of steel slamming back and forth". And the RDB takes a lot of that away anyway. Now when you are "tuning" a PCC, it is good to have choices. Many have gone to a hydraulic buffer, a different buffer spring and/or different ammo. The weight kit is just an extra option in tuning. You are looking at total weight of the moving mass, BCG + buffer, which is usually less that what blow back PCCs end up with anyway. Some still recommend a 9mm BCG (which has about 3 and a half oz of weight pinned in) and a 6 to 9 oz buffer.
  7. How are you going to mount the Venom to that Picatinny rail? That will make it taller than the 0.6" minimum. I like to mount all my sights at the height of AR15 irons. That would be about 2.6" above the barrel centerline. This would be at co-witness height. This makes all your AR rifles consistent, no matter what you shoot.
  8. I shot my CMMG Guard last weekend at a 1500 round class. I'm wondering if I should clean it or see how long it will go without cleaning. Nah!, 1500 rounds is enough. I'm going to clean it before my match this weekend. ?
  9. Do you need to monopod the gun? If not, just modify the mag catch and then you don't have to do anything to any mags. Simple, less costly, less time consuming.
  10. Just got this in an email from my local club. This is one of the contributors to a self fulfilling prediction that PCC will not become popular. We were up to 5 or 6 PCC shooters and I guess it was too frightening. Isn't there a higher authority that can "suggest" to a club that doesn't follow the national rule book start to follow it again?
  11. Also, Max said he uses any decent AR-15 upper. Doesn't seem to matter.
  12. From what I recently read: Shooting Innovations ramped barrel and matching bolt for a Glock mag blowback PCC Quarter Circle 10 small frame Glock lower Blitzkrieg buffer, the new, beefed up one. Max believed others broke because of short stroking. Stainless spacer to add weight and to short stroke No more wave springs with this setup
  13. The spacer is in front of the buffer. It adds weight (really the moving mass of the BCG and buffer total) while at the same time short stroking. It is amazing all the different things that are tried - different weights, different springs, different buffers, different stroke lengths, etc. ?
  14. Max recently posted on Instagram: This is with his current setup. I find it interesting that he no longer uses wave springs. He uses a spacer to short stroke and add weight to his buffer.
  15. That calls for a return for repair as I see it.
  16. Nice to know the POF triggers work so well for PCC. ?
  17. CMMG has been very good with customer service. I'm sure they would fix the problem. My CMMG Guard lower is made especially for the Glock mags. There is a ridge to prevent overinsertion and position the mag correctly. Have you taken the lower by itself and checked to see how the mags are seating and locked in?
  18. All my 33 round Glock mags work perfectly. I have never heard of this before. My 1st Guard shipped with a 33 round Glock mag.
  19. I run curved 4.5's as they are closest to my normal pistol triggers, but with a much better break and reset.
