  1. The Metalform mags from Brownell's did not need adjustment. Some of the Metalform mags from the last sale at PSA did. The ASC mags did.
  2. I have "adjusted" all my mags to work with my particular Colt setups. That includes shaving or bending feed lips and compressing the mag body in a vice. But I would certainly like to know what compromises a "tuned" Colt SMG mag.
  3. Is there any reason that any of these springs can't be used with the stock, captured guide rod?
  4. I didn't clean my SF from the weekend, just a little oil. Put in the guide rod kit with yellow spring. So 400 rounds and out to the desert. Shot 200 rounds without one FTE. Could not tell a difference from stock as far as shooting. So far so good. Went home, cleaned, lubed and put in the trigger springs. Two matches scheduled for the weekend.
  5. Did you install with the yellow spring? Did you check back with Alan to see if he recommended something different? Did you try another spring?
  6. Thanks all for the feedback on the failures to extract. After all considerations, I called Alan at Sprinco. I told him about my FTEs and that my PF shooting Lawman 124's out of a 5" Walther ranged from 34 to 41, with an average of 38. He advised me that his guide rod with the yellow spring set (#19172) should fix that. I asked about a different striker spring to match and was told a change wasn't needed with the yellow spring. I also added his trigger spring kit (#87888) to try out. I may have these before the weekend. If so, I will report back after shooting Sat and Sun.
  7. Thanks, I will put together a guide rod and spring. Any suggestion for a a spring that works with 124 gr off-the-shelf Lawman with a measured average PF of 138?
  8. I can just change out my guide rod and recoil spring from a poly PPQ? Is that what you are saying? Or just go to a lighter recoil spring? If so, what spring? How does this affect FTEs (failure to extract)?
  9. There are some that experience failure to extract. I had two in yesterday's match and 4 in today's match. So that is 6 in 400 rounds. Different magazines. I have been shooting Walther PPQs for years and never experienced this before. I have tried the stronger extractor spring available from Keith White, still had some failures. Put the factory spring back in. Does anyone know of a sure fix for this? If not I need to send my SF back to Walther. Trouble is I know they won't be able to reproduce the FTE as it is so sporadic.
  10. A venom on a 1/2" riser is what I have been using. Light and easy to "pop" that dot on a target.
  11. I like my SF much better than my poly. Have you done anything else to the poly than the trigger?
  12. Did you pay by credit card? Did they inform you that it would only work with their BCG?
  13. I like my Comp-Tac International holster, good price, fast shipping, quality holster
  14. Isn't IDPS only 10 rounds anyway? Basepads not needed.
  15. I put my flag in my pocket and take it out of the pocket. I can't really see anything easier.
  16. So I am assuming the bolt weight is about 3.5 oz. (CMMG is 3.46 oz for the weight plus the pin) that you removed. That would make the overall weight change of 2 oz less. So, three questions: 1. Would a buffer of 4.5 oz accomplish the same thing? 2. Isn't it the total weight of bolt plus buffer that should be measured? 3. For final tuning, would it be better to get a tuneable buffer with different weights (AL, steel and tungsten) to finalize what is best for a shooter?
  17. From my Comp-Tac on-line order to my house, 4 days. Guess they are now fully stocked.
  18. I think with red dots, that is no longer an advantage. The only advantage I can think of is the stability in holding the gun steady.
  19. I use Eezox. A dry lube. On my pistols, rifles, magazines.
  20. My friend couldn't use a normal red dot with his glasses. The Vortex Spitfire fixed that for him.
  21. FYI, I shoot PCC and CO. I load all my magazines the night before, not reloading during the match. I only do 1 walk through. I shoot back-to-back, so I am the shooter and on-deck at the same time. I believe I take less time than two shooters and do more than my share of pasting, timing or scoring. Anyone that doesn't help with pasting should be called out. The foolish part is not getting after the slackers, not letting a guy shoot two guns.
  22. Does Colt sell select fire SMGs? Now that would be cool.
  23. You need to download the Colt mags to an odd number of rounds. That will allow the mag catch to engage the mag window. Learned this from an experienced SMG shooter.
  24. One thing I like about my 9mm guard is the ridge that is manufactured in the lower. The magazines are inserted at the exact needed height for proper functioning in the guard. I would not do another guard without their lower.
