  1. Is your barrel ramped? I've been using Metalform or Brownell's 9MM mags (they are the same, the Brownell's are coated) and they just run. I do reload and have been for several decades. I guess I have a "feel" for the length of what will work. Try 1 or 2 of the Metalform or Brownell's mag. Don't spend a bunch of money on mags before you try a small sample of them.
  2. The MOA lifter works! The owner had a hip replacement and it’s a small shop. You might have to wait a bit for the lifter or not.
  3. The lock is simply pull the turret up, then turn? Both friends had guns in racks when the "mishap" occurred.
  4. I thought about this scope, I don't like uncapped turrets, not for a scope with a BDC reticle. There are a few "comedians" that play games. 2 friends that have run uncapped turrets have had their zero wander a hell of a lot.
  5. I don't think it's just the barrel, but, the entire RDB system. I don't think it's reached it's full development yet.
  6. I had Wolff extra power extractor springs as I use them in my normal AR's. Use a small screwdriver to push the large end of the spring into the extractor, they shouldn't launch on you that way.
  7. I used a 507 for a while. My astigmatism was the reason I changed it to a prismatic sight. The sight worked well enough, just the lack of focus drove me nuts.
  8. I've been following the threads on the RDB system with interest. I put a PCC together with a Leadstar Arms skeletonized receiver set and a parts that have been around mostly from 3 gun prize tables. I'm running the 16" barrel, with an Ace stock on a rifle length tube, Hiper Fire 24C trigger. I lowered the mag catch about .045 thousandths so the mags cleared the bolt. My Glock mags, I removed the taper so the bolt cleared with no problems, then took the step off of the follower so nothing hung up. Much like Les did. Magpul mags feed fine in it. I did make a coupler or splice for them, which allows 51 rounds to be loaded. I haven't changed the extractor spring yet, but, did replace the ejector with a chrome silicone spring from Brownells. The ejector springs get compressed, and look like a worm after a short time, unlike the same spring in an AR with a centerfire round. I'll look at the extractor spring shortly. Honestly, I haven't shot the gun a lot. I'm running a standard rifle buffer and spring at this time with no modifications. A Tubb flat spring is on the list to try when I get to it.
  9. Nice rig Tony. Is that an Athlon scope on it?
  10. USMC 1974, I was curious at to Tony's 6MM Grendel. I have an 8" twist Satern cut rifled barrel on mine. I've not shot it much, but will likely stay with the 123ish bullets for it.
  11. Whose barrel are you using and the twist on this?
  12. They are less picky if the target reflects the laser a bit better. At longer distances, a more stable range finder will deliver better accuracy, i.e. tripod mounted.
  13. I've gotten the Noslers from Wideners and the Hornadys from Mid South Shooter's Supply. Check for sales at both. Sierra bullets I have bought from O.K. Weber, although, I recently saw that Otto had passed.:(
  14. Don't waste your time or money on targets out to only 350. I've been using Nosler Ballistic Tip and Hornady V-Max out to 550 at Rocky Mountain 3 Gun for several years. The only reason for more than 55 grain bullets are the matches that have a love of spinners.
  15. Nosler Ballistic Tips and Hornady VMax will give match bullet accuracy with less drag. I'm sure Sierra Blitz King are in the same league. I've only seen the VMax in boxes of 250, ZMax if you can find them are in boxes of 500. Same bullet, different color tip. You didn't mention the intended purpose of your loads. Matches, varmints or something else?
  16. It's a bit annoying that the newer target is the "classic" where the older is not.
  17. A couple years ago, a mutual friend of 1Chota and I, tossed the idea of the Garand at me for us to shoot HeMan. A Model 97 or Model 12 in trench gun configuration for the shotgun part would be one fun time. We'd both wind up shooting Benellis, rather than go nuts and broke on either of the Winchesters.
  18. I have both versions. All the plastic ones run, most of the metal ones do.
