  1. I do it regularly with all good hand loads I’ve put through a 20” white oak barrel. But, I also did not put the upper together. Bought a complete 20” white oak varmint upper with matching bolt. I know the barrel plays a big part. Not sure how much assembly and matching bolt contributes. Also using a geissele national match trigger and Sig 6-24 scope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I shoot about 2-3k of short range “blasting” ammo/year. For the past 2 years I have been keeping my eyes peeled for bargains and have been loading for 13 cents/round (.023 primer, .055 bullet, and .052 powder. I do the same for match ammo and will be loading my next 500 75gr precision loads for about 25cents a piece. The case prep for bulk loading is a pain but the savings can be significant. 3. I have a brass magwell on my gun and I think it helps to balance it out. I saw that akai deal and almost jumped on it. Let us know what you think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I always worked under the assumption that you needed a direct impact on the primer and never considered that they can be unstable once damaged. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Nope! Was extremely lucky. This could have been really bad. Many lessons learned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Surprisingly the drawers are fine. 99% of the ones I need to pull have inverted primers which I think there’s a 0% chance of it happening with them. But since I need to buy a new puller it will be a collet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Agreed. I’ve never heard of it happening and never even considered the possibility. But it did so I won’t. I typically only pull bad bullets once a year and it’s normally less than 50 or so. If a collet puller doesn’t work well I won’t lose sleep over trashing them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Won’t pull again without one. Only some minor facial burns from powder and ringing ears. Based on the hole in my ceiling, it could have been a lot worse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I never thought of this as a possibility and chalking it up to a freak accident but had a .40 explode while pulling some bullets today. This was in the pull pile because the primer went in off center and was smashed. After the 3rd impact the explosion happened. The puller blew apart. The brass went through the drywall part of the ceiling. The collet made the marks in the drop ceiling. The bullet and primer were on the carpet area of my basement (about 3 feet from the concrete used for puller impact). Still trying to make sense of it and posting this mostly as a PSA. I’m convinced that it had to do with the damaged primer but also certain that nothing could have impacted the primer while pulling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I found that pull ups work great for me. I tend to hang at full extension for a second or two and pause again at the top. When I feel my grip getting weak I add some coconut oil to the bar. It makes my hands want to slip but resisting strengthens my grip. I also use “liquid grip” when shooting because I’m not opposed to a chemically enhanced grip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I didn’t know he ever stopped. Got mine a couple weeks ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I shot it once last year under the same premise (uspsa practice) and just used my major load. Seems it would be better practice that way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. What’s your question? Are you asking if you can use the same charge weight but with a light bullet to get a minor PF load? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I shoot limited minor because I like the challenge. Tried pcc last year and it was too easy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ha small world! I shoot all the local uspsa matches. You? I’m sure our paths have crossed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I load 25.2 of varget. Have you tried RL15? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Glenmoore. You? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I just talked to him last week when I got my grip. Have you tried calling him? He mentioned that he got a bit backed up because of his daughter’s wedding but it nearly caught up now that’s it’s over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I fully expected the camel camel camel link to take me to some action shots of Kita. Bummed but interested in the book at a lower price point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Han Dynasty Exton Pa! Spice that burns twice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Why can’t you fit one to the EVO? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I fondled them all over the past year and the LSI outlaw felt the best to me. The fact that Glenn cuts them to your frame dimensions is a really nice bonus. I installed mine yesterday expecting to do some minor fitting but it slid right on with ZERO play. Only problem is that it makes the rest of my gun look like poo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Not a factory pistol. It's an STI frame but a custom top end and I'm not the original owner. I guess it couldn't hurt to contact the builder to see what he thinks.
  24. Here it is zoomed in. I might just throw some duct tape on it. Seriously though...I’m not in a rush to spend the $ on a new slide, barrel fitting, slide to frame fit, finish etc. Might look into having it welded to get some more mileage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Detail cleaned my gun tonight for the first time in 20k rounds and discovered this crack by the extractor. Gun is a 2011 in 40. Should I be concerned or just shoot it til it breaks? Not sure of round count as I bought it used. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
