  1. That’s pretty low on the jerk scale...especially since it’s a great point. I’m typically “working” while at the range (answering emails etc) since I’ll usually go before heading to the office or over lunch. I’m probably better served sticking with twice a week but schedule my range time so I can be completely focused while there...thanks for the advice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I guess it's a result of getting warmed up and carries over to all drills. It's things like the subtleties of noticing how grip pressure can effect where my bullet hits, getting "in the zone" and seeing my front sight lift as soon as my shot breaks. I'm still working being able to call my shots all the time but can't typically do it until I'm warmed up which is toward the end of practice. Not sure I agree with the sit up analogy above...I can easily do 25 sit ups/day but the guy that can do 175 straight through is likely in much better shape than me. I do a bit of running and sometimes the first mile or two is tough. But, after 5 or 6 it feels effortless. Normally pushing on if the session is going really well isn't an option. Because I need to schedule time to practice I only bring the amount of ammo I plan to shoot and normally have a timeframe where I need to wrap it up...
  3. I normally get out for live fire twice/week and plan on about 200 rounds each day. Toward the end of my practice sessions I typically start to make some sort of breakthrough where I'm seeing/feeling things more clearly and generally have a better connection with the gun, sights, etc. So, for those of us that dont have unlimited time and ammo, do you think it makes more sense to do one session of 400 rounds or continue doing what I'm doing. More practice days vs. more rounds fired per practice day...Goes without saying that in either case I'd have a plan and structure.
  4. Following because I’d love to hear if anyone has found a solution to using the magnetospeed with a 1911. It’s awesome to be able to quickly attached it to my glock to verify velocity and obviously awesome on rifles but I still have my shooting chrony tin can for testing 1911 loads. I’d love to be able to ditch that thing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I had the same LNL issues as the OP (among other case feeder issues) and learned a lot from a guy on YouTube (highboy something). Then one day he posted a video about which press he would choose if buying new. Blue or Red. He basically went on to say that he had tons of Hornady videos on YouTube and very few Dillon videos because there’s nothing to fix. They (Dillon) just work. Him choosing blue put it all into perspective for me and I drank the kool aide sold after watching that video. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Just came here to report I uninstalled etc etc with no luck.
  7. No and 9x45 made a good point. This gun has never seen factory ammo and all my loads are around 130 pf Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yes. The one that just chipped was new last year. I swapped with one from my spare gun for a match today and will order an apex or lonewolf. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I definitely never manually dropped a bullet in the chamber. Always load from a magazine. I guess I'll chalk it up to a bad original and replacement. If it happens again within another 10k I'll have to see if there's another issue causing it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Had one chip at 8k and this one at 21k. Just wondering if this is the expected lifespan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I've used both and own the giraud (trimmed about 3k WFT and 4k with Giraud). The chamfer/debur in one pass with the Giraud is worth more than the $20 price difference in the two (especially if you do any sort of high volume processing). Also, the clear plastic sleeve on the giraud contains all the shavings and keeps your workspace much cleaner than the WFT.
  12. A little late on this one but I had the same ratio of not so red in my last case of Winchester spp. In case you're still wondering, they all went bang for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Had my eyes done about 10 years ago which is before I started shooting uspsa. Vision has been perfect ever since and I feel like I have HD vision when I stare off in the distance on a nice clear day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Not sure what your issue was while zeroing but I shot my buddy's pst gen ii 1-6 back to back with my razor 1-6 and there was not much of a difference at 1x and 6x. The dot was the same the reticle was different (Jm-1 in mine). I'm not an optics expert and do know that the difference in glass quality would be more apparent in low light but for 3gun I'm not sure the razor is worth 2x as much but I also don't have any plans to sell my razor and buy a pst. My advise for anyone else going through the same mental masturbation is to look through and play with each side by side. Then, decide how much value you put on the better internals and durability Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. For those that use the dry fire mag, is there any benefit besides getting a trigger click? I use a piece of paper in the slide and dummy rounds in my mags and can't remember ever dry firing without including reloads which makes me think the dry fire mag would be kinda pointless for dry fire practice. Am I missing something? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Finally went for it. I'll give an update sometime this summer on how it's holding up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yes. Less time loading = more time shooting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. As the great and wise nikdanja once told me "buy once cry once". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I think I'd have to go deeper than roughening up the surface on the back strap and the valleys of the finger grooves to remove the factor bumps/texture. I'd hate to make a permanent modification that bumps me out of production but talon grips just dont hold up well enough for me.
  20. Attention rule gurus! I want to do a glue grit job to my gen 3 Glock for production. However, in reading up on the best way to do the grit job, it seems like I need to take some material off the grip so the epoxy and grit adheres better and to maintain the stock grip circumference. Does this violate D4, 22.2? "Grips – any addition or removal of material which changes the factory profile or adds function such as beavertail or thumb rest."
  21. Finally something good came out of this thread I ordered 2 more Lee 223 pins for $15 from amazon. Wish I would have seen this first. Hopefully I don't break another but if I do I'll go to squirrel daddy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Also probably why even Wolf gold is crimped! I always kick myself in the ass when I decide to load a bunch of 223 plinking rounds. Last winter I did 3000 and said never again. This winter I looked at my bin of brass and said "nope" but started processing it the next week. I guess it gives me something to do when shooting slows down in the winter months. 23. Dilly, dilly! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. So do I! And, this is actually a Lee die. Processed about 5k 223 before this evil head stamp showed up. Wasn't until I bent the 2nd pin that I realized it was berdan primed. Just ordered 2 more pins and sorted the remaining 2000 cases. Found 11 more of these mixed in... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
