  1. B_Rad: You and Jacob H. did not shoot CO Nats this year. I hope you guys are not taking the ride into the sunset option. I am giving CO a try and your 2nd place previous year CO Nats video was quite instructive (as are Jacob's videos).
  2. I have one. I really like it and ran it in a half dozen matches. However, I am now giving CO a try and thus it sits in the safe for now. I like it better than the Stock 2. My first Tanfo was the Stock 3 and the SM has the same slide/barrel length as the S3, but the SM has a bull barrel. I had Patriot Defense do basic upgrades to mine to improve trigger, etc.
  3. Check this link for list. JJ lives in Nevada I believe, but see below. Coordinator Chart - International Defensive Pistol Association (idpa.com) From the steps for appeal above it notes "10.3.1 After receipt of the written appeal, the MD will deliver the document to the Area Coordinator (AC) of the region " If "the region" is the location of the match then the CO area AC handled situation.
  4. JJ said in his interview on TFBTV (posted 9/22) and in another blurb about the new Beretta "Defensive" pistol that he shot IDPA maybe 20 years ago and that he was shooting at IDPA Nationals in order to introduce the new Defensive model to the world (and it was built "driven" for IDPA). He said he called Bob Vogel and some other high-level shooter (I forgot the name) that he knew to get IDPA advice. I think he said Vogel told him "go for Down 0's".
  5. Yea, I noticed that when I was looking through the Practiscore data (after reading the responses in this thread) and thought Shane probably not happy about it. He is a professional and I expect you won't hear him complain.
  6. You can get the stage edit for JJ off Practiscore. I was not there so no comment about the ruling. Just providing some info so there are some facts about the stage situation. Including a YT video of the Fast and Furious stage (by a different shooter). Sitting, loaded start at card table. I remember a few IDPA matches with similar seated start. Definitely got to be careful not to sweep your knee/leg when drawing while seated. Echavez Racaza, Simon Joseph (1) 2021-09-25 15:20:22.802 - 2021-09-25 17:03:11.245 Edited 2 hours after. The following is a nonexclusive list of unsafe behaviors. A. Endangering any person, including yourself. This includes sweeping one’s self or anyone else with a loaded or unloaded firearm. Sweeping is defined as allowing the muzzle of the firearm (loaded or unloaded) to cross or cover any portion of a person. Exception: Some body types combined with some holster types makes it almost impossible to holster a firearm or remove the firearm from the holster without sweeping a portion of the shooter’s lower extremities. Thus, a match Disqualification is not applicable for sweeping of the shooter’s own body below the belt while removing the firearm from the holster or holstering of the firearm, provided that the shooter’s trigger finger is clearly outside of the trigger guard. However, once the muzzle of the firearm is clear of the holster on the draw, sweeping any part of the body is a Disqualification. Example: Sweeping one’s leg on a seated start is a DQ.
  7. Anyone swap out the Sig X-Ray front sight for a fiber optic? The Sig #8 is listed at .220" (actual height with base and blade). I measured the #8 front sight blade at .170" Dawson has a .160" tall and a .175" tall and .100" wide in the options list for a Sig P320 Fiber Optic front sight. Wilson Combat has a "Snag Free" front fiber optic sight list at .215" height and .125" wide. If the base is same size as a Dawson the blade height is estimated (by my math) to be .165" I want to just swap out the X-Ray front sight if possible with a fiber optic sight. Thanks
  8. Well, Cheby, that reply made me laugh. Seems that "Carry Optics" is growing in all area clubs around these parts and gear-related options are as well.
  9. I have a holster for my P320 X5 Legion (I think it is a CompTac) and the AXG fits in it. I have two adjustment knobs and can adjust slightly as necessary. I'm not sure if that translates to all P320 X5 holsters.
  10. Aluminum AXG grip is lighter than the Legion grip. AXG grip is a bit thinner, but you can get larger side and back grip panels for the AXG grip. I like the "feel" of the AXG grip, but need a larger back panel (and may get larger side panels) given I have longer fingers.
  11. I just got a good deal on an AXG Scorpion. It appears that the Legion slide will work with the AXG grip (according to a couple of Q's asked on the SIG web site related to AXG grip). I ordered a large back strap panel. I like the feel of the gun and it shoots well. I'll have to try the legion slide on it. The Legion slide has competition sights vs. the AXG Pro's X-Ray sights. The Scorpion fits in my X5 Legion holster.
  12. Ditto here. No one got it or gave it at the range. Only three people in our group had it as far as we know and it was from where they worked. All mild couple of day cases.
  13. All I added to my X5 Legion was Talon grips. Stock trigger with use is just under 4#. I like the weight of the Legion compare to a Glock. I sold my Glock 34 a couple of years ago. I still have a G17 MOS, but for competition I prefer the Legion.
  14. I shot a match at a smaller club this spring and was 2nd overall. No Open shooters. HOA was a guy shooting a PCC. Four of the six stages were not really challenging for a PCC. HOA is just a result of Practiscore lumping all shooters in a match together in an overall combined list. I was happy with the result. But it seems that the Practiscore combined results list does matter to a lot of shooters.
  15. Talon grip and red dot only on X5 Legion. Run stock trigger (average 4# pull).
  16. 50 in the winter is too cold?! I guess cold is relative. Many of us here consider cold to be around freezing and bearable cold at 28 to 30 if not too windy. I consider unbearable cold to be temperatures in the mountains near the border of North Korea at 20 or more below that with wind chill would result in gangrene from frostbite after skin is exposed for a short time (and that was in the pre high tech clothing army).
  17. The local IDPA club in our area follows the current rules. 99% of the people never get any better. Lots of stages seem to be rinsed and repeated unless one of the club officers that takes the time to design interesting stages is in charge that day. Only one or two people know how to upload scores to Practiscore (resulting in several days to over a week of delays getting results at times). I show up when I can to support the club because there are lots of nice members. On a bad day or if there are a couple of PCC shooters I end up in 3rd place out of 20-23 people. Most of the USPSA shooters don't show up to shoot IDPA matches any more (when they did it made the match more interesting). The usual stages are much too easy for PCC shooters and some people that are mid-pack shooters switched to PCC so they can claim "high overall." The club does have swinger targets, TX star, drop turner targets, clam shells, etc., but it is only about every third or fourth match that you see them used. I always help tear down. I only attend when I can for the "social aspect" or getting some practice with a carry gun.
  18. Try calling Patriot Defense if you have not already done so. https://patriotdefense.com/tanfoglio-defiant-stock-master-ifg/ Agree that it is nicely balanced. I like mine.
  19. Yesterday I was in a local Scheels that had over 250 100-round boxes of .223 as well as 100 20-round boxes of .223. There were a few 9mm, lots of .45, and some .40. One box per customer (two boxes of 20-round .223 per customer). I stopped this morning and by 11:30 a.m. over 25 people were in line to purchase guns and all the .223, 9mm, .40, and .45 were gone. The inventory of magazines (Glock, Sig, AR, etc.) were being depleted. Ammo ordering manager told me that the ammo drought will not end any time soon from what he is being told. I stopped in a local Bomgaars (similar to Fleet Farms) for dog food, etc. I saw a 275-round box of 22 LR left and bought it. The two women at the service counter told me that they had between the two of them received over 200 phone calls about ammunition availability as of noon today (Saturday) from when the store opened in the morning.
  20. I believe that the Orange has some trigger work already done. A basic Shadow 2 is a nice pistol. You will probably change hammer springs to get the DA pull down and perhaps the recoil spring. For USPSA type shooting I don't think that the Orange offers any accuracy advantage. If you have the money the Orange is a nice gun--I have a Shadow 2 and dry fired the Orange. The Orange trigger appeared ready-to-go out of the box. P.S. Given the craziness that appears to be developing--you might want to get one of them sooner than later. I visited a local Scheels today. There were two Shadow 2s in stock for over two months. This morning over 25 people were in line to buy guns and magazines and any remaining ammo were disappearing There were over 250 100 round boxes of .223 in stock yesterday afternoon as well as .45 and .40. One box per customer. All gone at 11:30 a.m. this morning as well as the two Shadow 2s.
  21. Only match within 150 miles radius is a monthly IDPA with reduced to 3 stages with limited round count. Only 7-9 people showing up last two months. USPSA indoor matches cancelled for two clubs for who knows how long.
  22. Ditto. I like mine a lot. PD had some of their secret Texas gun elves do some magic on mine.
  23. Our local indoor matches (2x/month) just cancelled for the rest of the year because only 4-6 people have been showing up (vs. normal of 20 to 24). Local monthly IDPA match went from 6 stages to 4 stages with reduced rounds. Numbers down quite a bit. One larger area club having lower attendance.
  24. It is now impacting our area. Local outdoor match in September cancelled for not enough participation. Indoor matches down to 6 or 7 people (from two squads of 10) recently. Even the local IDPA club has cut the upcoming September match from six stages to four stages with limited round count. Several people have noted that they are not shooting because of ammo situation. One large club a couple of hours north has had decreasing turnout overall.
  25. That whisky bottle is way too small. Get the Macallan 18 out for a better comparison.
