Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'm pretty new here but even I know that tactical soap is the best. The real question is who makes the best competition belt compatible pouch for it. The rope seems to get hung up on gear as I mount and dismount it. I've been using a spare safariland AR mag pouch, but the retention sucks and I'm worried about a DQ if I drop the soap.
  2. In my 308 SS 5R (1:11.25 x 24" barrel) I've been using: 75gn smk LC brass, Cases trimmed to 2.015, primer pocket chamfered to remove crimp and on the bullet side of the flash hole. CCI primer (not bench rest) 43.1 +/-.02 gn of varget 2.800-2.808" OAL I'm fairly new to precision rifle shooting, but this seems to be quite accurate and safe for me. You would need to add a few grains for a non military case. I'm actually going out to work on the load a bit more today. I'm afraid I'm going to have to switch to a different case soon because of some issues with them from the guy I got them from. I'm probably going to buy 100 Lapua cases.
  3. Ether is generically sold as "starting fluid". It usually $1 cheaper per can than brake parts cleaner. I do fabrication/ welding and use lots of it. You can get it in WalMart in the automotive section for pretty cheap. It's quick evaporating and leaves no residue. I've been using it a little on my m&p and it doesn't seem to have any efect on the poly frame.
  4. Yes, it is a great place to live. I've traveled all over north and central america and I would never move anywhere else. I'll keep my eyes open for the rockcastle matches that's only an hour or so drive for me.
  5. I'm in Hendersonville just north of Nashville. Whatever I can find somewhat locally (middle TN area). I'm going to try out a rifle & pistol match at the Middle TN shooters club the first of next month. I know there is some regular IDPA at one of my local ranges. I started looking into competitions because of 3 gun videos I had seen, so that was my intial idea. I don't have the money to buy holsters and other gear for each just yet and I want to make sure I find it fun before getting too deep. I have an M&P 9 full size, AR I built from an 80% lower that is somewhat geared towards 3 gun and a benelli m2.
  6. Hello. My name should be obvious from my username. I'm a relatively new shooter and I'm looking to shoot my first match in a couple weeks. I'm here to search and read mostly.
