  1. This is from the STI FAQ page Q: What is the recoil spring weight in my gun? A: Compensated pistols 8 pounds 5″ 9mm guns 10 pounds 5″ .40 S&W guns 14 pounds 5″ .45 ACP guns 18 pounds 6″ 9mm guns 8 pounds 6″ .40 S&W guns 12 pounds 6″ .45 ACP guns 14 pounds
  2. I'm far from a PCC expert. When I hear 9 major I immediately think open gun. You might have better luck finding specific answers in the PCC forum
  3. 9mm major... for a PCC? Are you sure about that?
  4. Thank you for the response! I'm very interested in what you find out with the major loading for open. If it's successful I might give them a try as well. I wouldn't mind getting all my bullets from one manufacturer. PS your discount code doesn't appear to be working (or maybe I'm just not doing it right)
  5. What led you to seek the Eggleston sponsorship? I never hear of too many others using them. Because they are localish? Or purely based on performance? Did you test other coated bullets? Any plans to use them in your open gun? I've been using Eggleston bullets in .45 for a year or so now and really like them but never tested other coated bullets. I've got some SNS coated samples to try because they are significantly cheaper per case but dang do the Eggleston perform well.
  6. FWIW I don't bother sorting 9mm brass, even for 9 major. I just cull the crap headstamps, lube and load.
  7. It depends on if "the competitor has gained a significant advantage on any target(s) while faulting" or not, as per the rule. Which falls under the discretion of the RO if I'm not mistaken.
  8. I'm primarily a single stack shooter. I love shooting my skinny gun. I think the reloads add a fun strategic aspect to the game. I'll never stop shooting SS. BUT.... Some days I just want to be loud and obnoxious. Some days I just want to see how fast (literally) I can pull the trigger and still hit the target. Some days I don't want to bother reloading, just burn stages down without worrying about it. Some days I just don't want to pick a single piece of brass. For THOSE days I have an open gun in 9 major. Sometimes you just need to do something totally different to keep from getting burnt out.
  9. I think 1911 pouches should work. Safariland pouches at least list both 1911 and p220.
  10. If it's a standard frame and slide I'm not sure what the issue could be. You could try contacting blade-tech and see what they say
  11. What gun? I had to trim a little in the trigger guard area on the holster body to get my Trojan to fit better
  12. Was it Zane? He had me squared away with a shipping label and RA within a couple hours of my initial email.
  13. When I shout SS I like to have 6 mags on the belt + the 1 in the gun. I carry a few spares in my bag as well. I like the DAA Racer single stack pouches. I also use a blade tech holster on the BOSS hanger. Ammo amount depends on the round count of the match. Don't gear up too hard quite yet. As long as you have a safe holster and some mag pouches just go and shoot. Look at what other people are using and ask them about their gear.
  14. This is the opposite of my experience with STI. I had a barrel/link issue and sent an email about it. I got a phone call within a couple hours and got it completely taken care of in 2-3 weeks. Personally, I'd skip the loaded and get a Springfield RO. RO>Trojan>Loaded. FWIW I own a Trojan
  15. These would make a good computer screen background
  16. Man, I'd love to see a V8 Gold Team with a 3 port comp. But I'm half temped to try to trade my 2011 in for a V12 just because of how obnoxious it is.
  17. I've run a decent amount of factory 9mm out of my MBX mags with no issues
  18. The OAL for HAPs on the Hodgdon website is crazy short which is probably why the pressures are so high with charge weights so low.
  19. IMO 3n38 is THE powder for 38 super/supercomp.
  20. I use the SS racers and like them a lot. Tons of angle adjustment, easy to adjust tension but they are a little pricey. I like them better than both the 771s and 773s.
  21. I just swapped to a 17 and so far have had no failures with CCI spp
  22. I used a .355 KKM bull barrel on my open gun. I like it so far. but I've only got maybe 1000 round through it
  23. Ah see, if I was restricted like that then I might not bother. But its easy and convenient. Plus, I just like to shoot my guns. Function test with live ammo haha.
