  1. OK, so I got how heavy and slow (just above floor) bullets and light springs work for handguns, but what about pcc? The spring and buffer must play a roll. I load 165gr at about 800fps for my pcc but am getting to much shake when firing more than double taps. Is the formula the same. ie, light spring and buffer for heavy and slow?
  2. I've been loading 160's for a couple of years now and have the same problem. ATK and Remington brass has about a 90% success rate. All others are relegated to the range ammo pile and about 50% of that will not chamber in my KKM barrel. However my son's Sig 320 will eat that bad batch so its a win win, I guess. Also, the ammo with the bulged cases run higher velocities. I load to floor with 2.8gr of TG for a 126 pf out of a 5 inch KKM.
  3. I can't post in the classified forum. I'd like too.
  4. Here is what I did with my gen5 34 and it works. Glock Store (SKU 1231) extended tungsten guide rod. Then I got a wolff 10# recoil spring and it pairs perfectly with my 165gr 9mm at a 130ish PF. You can buy several different weight springs an see which one works the best for you. GS recoil springs are not right. Also, I tried GS new pure tungsten guide rod with no success, you are forced to use their proprietary springs which goes back to my last sentence. I get accused of shooting "under floor" rounds on occasion. I have on several occasions throughout the last year chronographed them and am always above floor. That's how well the combination works, for me. Oh, and a Thug Plug, that took some fitting with the medium back-strap and TT mag extenders, but that's another story.
  5. Tight group, 2.7gr, 1.150(oal) 165gr plated=758fps with the KKM bbl. With the stock glock barrel I bump the powder to a heavy 2.8gr for the same fps. This is a floor load. The biggest issue I have with this load is badly bulged cases. I use mixed brass and most of the brass gets a significant bulge due to the bullet length and locks my gun up so that I have to use other methods besides my hands to un-jam it. I go thru every round and kick those ones out to my son whose 320 will eat them just fine. Newer ATK (fed, cci) and Remington brass works fine, and yes it is a noticeable difference from147gr. More of a push but I think the 10lb recoil spring makes it. Soft going back, soft going forward. The dot never leaves the redicle and if I do my part it doesn't move much.
  6. Cool gun. I'm running an almost identical setup with a 10# recoil spring with no issues. I am using 165gr rn right at floor. It does get sluggish after a half dozen range trips or so and needs a wipe down and some Mobil 1. It seems like a solid setup.
  7. Ok, everything seems to be working now. I had an after market trigger mechanism housing and installed the factory one but still with the rocket dissconnector. Yes an improvement but....... Ill be sending it off to JG in a couple of weeks, so we'll see.
  8. Got it, installed it and shot it. Only a little better than my Vanek trigger but an improvement none the less. However, about one round per mag would not go into battery, just a push with my thumb to go in. Closer inspection showed that my striker is dragging on the trigger bar. Not a lot but enough. Any suggestions?
  9. Thanks all, I got one on the way.
  10. From what I just read (Appendix D7, 21.5 and 21.6.) it is not, because the "trigger" is visibly different from the factory original. Am I wrong?
  11. I have not read every post, but is this (timney) trigger carry optics leagl?
  12. Thanks for all replies and rebukes. I will take heed of the warnings. And yes I have loading manuals but decided to venture a bit. I have loaded 125 and 115gr to USPSA major with no issues using Winchester Auto Comp which is a bit of a venture in itself. And that's why I asked. Thanks
  13. The only powders I have in stock are TG and WAC. I used to load 9major, I wonder if that would be safer?
  14. I've been trying to reach mid 1200fps with TG and 115jhp. I did it using 5.6gr of TG and 1.125oal for a 1258fps average Glock19. While my spent primers are a little bit flat there is no other evidence of over pressure. Q: Does this sound safe to Y'all? I can't find any information that says this is a safe load. but I like it.
  15. Use sand paper and remove some plastic from the front of the mag release. The part that faces the front strap of the grip. For the Ghost that is.
  16. Got it. Thanks to all. BTW, I adjusted the overtravel screw a bit to much.
  17. Hello, I have a gen 5 34 and am shooting carry optics with it. A Vanik trigger was installed less than 5000 rounds ago and has been great. In the last two outings the trigger will not reset while shooting, about 20% of the time. Thanks.

I put Talon grips on it and it feels even better. They did not want to stick at first but after heating them up with a blow dryer they are extremely secure.

It feels better in my hand than the X5 module. Fuller.

Thanks for the feedback, I got it and installed it and will go shoot it tomorrow. I feels very good in the hand.

Already have a trigger job with a flat trigger, but what do you mean by (buy) a back up gun?

I was hoping to hear from someone who has done it. Their reactions/opinion would be very helpful. Thanks for the replies so far.
