Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. That is what I do and it is pretty quick. Is there a reason why lee discourages placing the brass upside down on the punch? The reason I've heard is that if you place them upside down, the punch doesn't push them up high enough to clear the die, and then the next case is doing the pushing, and could end up deforming the mouth of the case above it. Don't own one though so I can't vouch for this personally, but it sounds plausible.

    glock 19 gen 3

I bought my G19 (gen 2.5?) used and I love it. only thring I have changed so far is to replace the sights. (the tritiums on it were worn out. should tell you about how old it was when I got it, seeing as they'll last about 12 years) Oh, and I had the armorer at the last GSSF shoot rplace the recoil spring assy (with a glock stock) and put in a new extractor with the loaded chaimber checking thingie.
  3. hogrider, thanks for the link. exactly what I was looking for!
  4. Before I go and try to re-invent the wheel, does anyone know of an already published spreadsheet that will calculate the scores based on your input from the yellow scoresheet copy? thanks, john
  5. Thanks to all the replies, will look into the ranges you mentioned! It seems Oak Park Sportsmans Club is not accepting new members. (since 2014) I will check out Schultz on Sat when I go shoot the GSSF competition there.
  6. OK, maybe we'll meet... I am registered for the GSSF shoot on Oct 3rd. (I'll be the one that looks lost! LOL) which reminds me, I need to put the address into my GPS while i'm thinking about it...
  7. Thanks, I'm on the North side. (about 2 miles west of Wrigley field)
  8. Hello. While I'm not a "new" shooter, I have been out of the sport for a while. I recently bought a Glock 19, and joined the GSSF. (so far only have 1 competition under my belt, with my 2nd in a few feewks) I am also very new to reloading. I have reloaded some for my Winchester (32WS) but no pistol round yet. I do havea press, dies for my 9mm and .40 (old Taurus PT100) some components, and recently some elusive pistol powder! Expect MANY questions from me, after I lurk for a bit and try to read EVERY word in all past posts. <LOL> One quick question for the other shooter from Il... I need to find an outdoor range near chicago. (one that won't take half a day to get to/from, and has 'reasonable' membership fees.) does this animal even exist? or do I need to move? (and YES, I know I need to move, it's just out of the cards for now.) well, enough typing for now, gotta get back to reading! John
