  1. I tried the ba 7.5 to make major. The fastest I could get it to go was 1307 at 7.6 grains at 1.160 col. with a 124 gr hbrn berry's. I did not test 115s. It does have enough gas to run the comp just not enough velocity to make Major. There is just not enough case in 9mm to make major with ba 7.5
  2. Ghost products Holster is what I am running
  3. out of all those powders that you have tried, what makes you like the silhouette the best? Ive tried i have tried most of those powders too and silhouette was one of my least favorite. It was definitely snappier than the other powders ive tried. Ive tried hs6, autocomp, 3n37, true blue, silhouette, and cfe. Hs6 was the dirtiest but the softest. Hs6 is still my 1st choice though. Cfe would be my 2nd choice.Your post just goes to reinforce the fact that all loads are different for different people. I have shot loads borrowed from other shooters that were horrible, yet they swore by them. And I'm sure others have thought the same of mine. Funny you say that CocoBolo's start load with 7.2 of silhouette has worked perfect in my SPS vista short. I have tried and chronoed a bunch of others and that load works the best in my gun. I really think open guns are just picky. Depending on who built them barrel etc.
  4. Andrew, I have always operated under the assumption "burn rate" correlates the charge weight required to achieve a given velocity, i.e.: a larger charge of a slower powder results in the same velocity as a smaller charge of a faster powder. I don't know how Hodgdon calculates "burn rate" nor how closely my concept of burn rate correlates with theirs, but previous editions of their chart agreed with my real world data perfectly. Unfortunately their latest revision places HS6 on the faster side of the other popular 9 major powders which doesn't jive with my concept of burn rate nor my data. In my mind I group 9 major powders as fast, medium and slow: Fast (7ish grains for major with a 115): CFE Pistol Autocomp Silhouette Medium (8ish grains for major with a 115): HS6 Longshot Slow (9ish grains for major with a 115): SP2 3N38 These are just powders I've tested, but don't include: 3N37, N350, AA#5, AA#7, True Blue, etc. Good thing you don't include 3n37 that stuff will torch a Schumann
  5. They do a fantastic job I am looking at a pantera next in 40 and I will custom fit a 9mm slide for it for 3 gun
  6. I put a cp buffs shock buffer in mine, an EGW tungsten guide rod, a *thumb rest [generic]*, a Cheely 90 degree mount and it made a huge difference on how flat it shoots too. I also have the trigger tuned down to 2 lbs. I had it at 1.5 did not like it was just too light. 7.2 grains of Silhouette with a Berry's 124 gr hbrn at 1.171 is making 1384 fps which makes it 171 PF SD is 15 so this load is real stable. Winter time I can drop it to 7.0 and make the same PF. Silly reverse temperature sensitive powder.
  7. I look at CO as a jumping off point for someone to test drive open class without taking the jump into the open gun equipment. The other way to look at it we have limited and limited 10 so why not open and carry optics. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  8. mro111lland What load are you running in your sps vista short? I just picked one up and can't decide on autocomp or sillouette.
  9. Graf and Sons has loading Data. They are the ones importing it. http://www.grafs.com/catalog/tech-resource/technicalResourceId/20/productId/28083
