Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I played with some Blue Dot last week, I was a little disappointed in the FPS but I chalk it up to the shorter barrel. LongShot gave me a lot better velocity and acceptable accuracy. I was getting 1275+ with a 180 and Longshot. With the Blue dot I was hovering at 1200 at 10.8 grs and starting to see primer flattening. I am sure I could run 11.0 grs but being a Commander and just a fun gun I don't see a need to push it faster. I choron'd some Atomic 180 ammo and the were running 1150. Accuracy was a bit better with the Blue dot over Long Shot and the recoil impulse was nice, so I am content with that since I have about 5lbs of Blue Dot but I will be getting some #9 to test out when I find some
  2. Awesome, I didn't realize you were all the way up in Muncie.....or I forgot
  3. I just pulled several 10mm loads that had bad PMC brass and it made me reevaluate my crimping. I was thinking 10mm needed to crimp tight so I put a .003 taper crimp on it but by the time it would actually measure .003 difference I was crushing the bullet. I didn't know that until I pulled these rounds. Since, I have lightened up to .001 or .002 and still have plenty of neck tension and I want to believe a more accurate round...we'll see. I just started loading them back up. But I like to measure and know what I have going on yes there is variance between case length and thickness but I believe an average can be had. JMHO
  4. Hi all. I am signed up for the IN state match and looking forward to it
  5. I am looking for load suggestions for upper scale loads. Not Necessarily nuclear but I want to know I am not shooting a 40. I figure heavier bullets 180 or 200 to give the powder a chance to ignite better But I have very little experience with the shorter barrel and am gathering all the info I can.
  6. I have a 6" 40 and I run coated 165's over 5.8 grs of WSF for major 1.155 oal pretty much any primer
  7. I finally joined, I am gun savvy but have recently started shooting USPSA. Been reading some on here but never signed up. But now I am I live in Avon just outside Indianapolis.
