  1. It is usually possible for responsible members to overcome the failings of the leadership. That is, of course, not the optimum path.
  2. He's shooting production now, getting ready for some challenge or other.
  3. I have an Open pistol with two barrels that shoots 9 major or Super or Supercomp. I was expecting a softer flatter feel from super/sc and, even after trying many powders, I did not get it. Smiths have figured out the 9 major so reliability is no longer a differentiation. If you buy once fired single head stamp 9mm brass, shoot it once in practice, pick it up and reload it for matches and leave it on the ground you'll have nice reloading experiences and good ammo at two cents a case or so. And no scrambling at matches for your super brass. I recommend 9mm major.
  4. I like 38S because I want my Open pistol to be as loud as possible.
  5. Nothing better than N330 for 9mm minor
  6. This discussion and topic is another illustration why the rules need a top to bottom rewrite.
  7. Your late night ramblings make a lot more sense than most of the postings made during daylight and prime time hours.
  8. Read the posts I really hope you are trolling, because this question doesn't really follow from the thread.
  9. USPSA really wants to ban pistols from Production that are mostly used by our military and law enforcement personnel? REALLY?
  10. Check to ensure you have the correct feed plate installed.
  11. Rule book definitely needs a grounds up rewrite including its organization. An experienced technical writer and subject matter experts would be time and money well spent.
  12. Mineral spirits, a toothlike brush, an old t shirt, an air compressor and a bore snake. Foul Out for leaded barrels.
  13. Shooting with both eyes open does not permit a shooter to see through opaque objects such as a sideways mounted C-More. One eye open or both eyes open, the fact is that the vision barrier on the left side of a sidewise mount C-More inhibits vision to some degree. That disadvantage may be offset by other factors but the disadvantage still remains.
  14. After you engage a target you should be looking for and then at the next target. That vision barrier on the left side of your pistol can inhibit that process.
  15. The manufacturer should present the actual firearm to the Director-NROI and if it meets specs, put it on the approved list. "Numbers" mean very little and cannot be easily verified anyway. Nothing worse than a rule that cannot be readily enforced. Trying to "make Production what it should be" is a waste of time and a fool's errand. Someday we will learn our lesson.
  16. NROI Director and the Board have been "at the job" for years. Creating a downable PDF file is not rocket science. USPSA rules dissemination is a joke. It has needed fixing for years.
  17. Our new director has pledged to bring the USPSA into the digital/internet age. The NROI and the rules dissemination would be the best place to start.
  18. So post a downloadable version of current rules/changes on the website.
  19. Or at least post a downloadable version on the USPSA website
