  1. Not sure about the rifle length setup, but i have in the past made a spacer to put under a carbine length spring in a rifle length buffer tube to make it the same operating length as a carbine buffer tube
  2. They are probably rare as hens teeth but if you could find some Firebird Precision mag ext’s you could make 15 rounders... Possibly
  3. Anybody have any expierence with Terry Waskul Built open guns. He is out of Michigan.
  4. I would of guessed the Hayes Gun would have a rear sight.
  5. I would venture to say you will never look back now having the M2 . I love my A5 but know if it need the SLP it is always waiting on stand by . It’s like an American Express never leave for a big match without it.
  6. Any luck with replacing the spring.
  7. Lookin good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. And they did say the 1919 mags were working well.
  9. I’m sure they will come up with some other trinkets as well.
  10. I saw on Taccoms Face book Page yesterday they are playing around with a buffer for the VR 80.
  11. Gotca keep it in the stock configuration and try the shell catch spring and go from there. Also check to make sure the shell stop spring witch is on the other end of the shell catch is in it home and is able to be compressed far enough to release a shell. You basically have two springs working against each other.
  12. I guess i should of asked at the start is the mag tube in the stock configuration or are you running an extension. If running an extension does it function if you put it back to stock. Not sure how old your gun is mine is the older police version with the cantilevered barrel. Every spring in that thing was stiff as heck when it was new. They may have changed their spec on the shell catch spring over the years. Just keep track of the little clip that holds in the shell catch pin, they have the tendency to take flight on removal. I keep a few spares just incase. I actually was cleaning mine before a match once and noticed it was missing.
  13. I’m sure I’m over thinking it sometimes i just need to turn my brain off.
  14. So I went down to the safe and pulled my old SLP to see if i can help. There is a cone type spring under the back end of the shell catch. This spring pushes out in the back of the shell catch therefore moving the front in and releasing the shell. If the spring is broken , missing or just weak it will not be able to push out on the back of the catch. I do not shoot the SLP any more switched to a Browning A5 and this spring has to be changed on those guns almost right out of the box to feed with a extended tube on them. I believe I got the spring for the Winchester SX2. All those guns have the same design, and it is easier to find the parts for the Winchester. Brownells should have them.
  15. I was realizing that just after posting. What I was really trying to question was maybe a heavier projectile would stabilize better at the slower velocity versus a lighter one. Seems like the most fight is getting the lighter projectiles to be consistent and accurate.
  16. I was thinking/wondering if it would work like a pistol. What i mean is a 115 gr 9mm is more snappy than a 147. I was thinking of trying something heavier and slower next time.
  17. I would say most local matches could be shot with 1 9rd, 1 19rd and 1 28rd (if they work) if not maybe like 3 19 rd’ers.
  18. I have been goin back and forth on the TSO or a 2011. I dont have the money to have multiple guns. I know you could do the same thing with a 2011 but the cost would be more and finding one with both setups and the mags to go with it you could buy two TSO ‘s. With the new arrivial of the Rock Island VR80 shot gun the ability of getting into open on a dare I say “budget” are a little more obtainable.
  19. You are correct sir. Was thinking i could just use the same ammo as when shooting Tac ops just throw the dot on if waning to change it up a bit and shoot open.
  20. I did the low end optic shuffle for a bit and finally got fed up with it. Landed me a Swarovski 6ZI 1-6. Hands down the best scope out there , in my opinion that is.
  21. I was thinking this gun might not even need the comp, if it shoots as soft as they say.
  22. I primarily shoot 3 gun, and was contemplating doing some open class shooting. Have always like the look and all the positive feed back about the TSO in the Iron site configuration but not much on shooters using it as an open gun. I like the idea of being able to switch back and forth. What say y’all.
  23. I wonder if the JP roller Trigger that tooth and nail put in the 1919 would work.
  24. Great good luck... great experience. O yeah go ahead and make your hotel reservations now. There is not a lot around there so they fill up quick.
  25. The pro am would be a great match to attend , the am match is great for all skill levels, lots of after shooting fun in the vendor area and if you get lucky on the random draw for the AM prize table you can walk away with a great prize even if you tank a stage.
