  1. You can put trigger kits in ... (internal parts) ... but watch out for the trigger. I put a CAEK trigger kit in my CORE ... but still using the factory trigger. In the case of the M&P you mentioned ... the flat trigger is not legal for CO or Production. Unless the rules changed in the last 20min or my medications are "better" than I am giving them credit for ... the flat trigger CORE would be shooting OPEN/minor. edit: https://uspsa.org/document_library/2017/APPENDIX D7_DNROI_2117.pdf
  2. Not today!! It's raining!! Prescott and Payson both cancelled their matches ...
  3. Check this out!! I wonder if it is real?? Verrrrry interesting!! https://www.smith-wesson.com/search/node/Slide Kits
  4. If this has already been mentioned and I missed it then ... Otherwise ... it looks like a 642 is a 38 special +p ... not a 357. 357s and 9mms both are rated at 35000 psi ... but ... 38 specials only at 17000 and +p 20000 psi. They might drop in but if you loaded them like 9mm ... IMHO ... they would be too hot for the 642.
  5. Must be more places ... but here are some 1/2 size here ... http://www.targetbarn.com/classic-airsoft-cardboard-targets-100.php
  6. Thanks ChuckS!! I swear .. these will be great to score after about 40 people put 4 rounds each on them. I guess with carbines, 1/2 size targets ... etc ... I don't know ... sometimes things change a little too fast ... you need to sit down ... take a deep breath and break for a while.
  7. I sure missed this one. Do you have a reference/link to a USPSA announcement??
  8. Just saw one on a vendor site for $450 ... http://grabagun.com/smith-and-wesson-and-wesson-43.html The biggest difference I see is the elimination of the tail at the rear of the frame ... (more Glock like) ... all else looks pretty much the same. I bet the backstraps will fit older M&Ps ... and I didn't watch the video but assume same mags ... holsters .. etc ...
  9. duplicate ... sorry ...
  10. I had it for a year and didn't renew ... It was cool at first ... doing some small quick orders that would normally have been cost prohibitive (if I had been paying the shipping). I got a couple of "big" "heavy" things too ... (like target stands) ... that would have been cost prohibitive if I had to pay for the shipping. Unfortunately, as others have mentioned ... the orders started taking a week+ to show up. Sometimes two to three days would pass before an order would process. Most of these small orders were small because I needed them "right now" ... not in a week or so ... and that was the game changer for me. This year ... I have been clearing out stuff that has been accumulating in my "wish list" when they have shipping coupons ... and stuff I really need I pay for shipping or honestly just get it somewhere else. The long shipping intervals on standard shipping (sadly) have really cut down on my Brownell's activity.
  11. I was just doing the same thing ... looking for a way to go minor with a lighter bullet ... (instead of using the same 180 being used for my major loads) ... to maintain more velocity. Anyhow ... my biggest concern with a lighter bullet was being forced to load shorter (assuming the lighter bullets would naturally be shorter). I had been loading my 180s to 1.15 and have been satisfied with that length for both minor and major loads in a couple of different guns. After picking up a sample pack of 165s from Blue Bullets ... I was pleasantly surprised to find them longer than the plated 180s I had been using (either XTreme or Bullet Works plated). The plated 180s measure.570 and the 165s go .600. What makes it even a better is ... w/o touching my dies the 165s end up with a loaded OAL of 1.17 ... (10 thou more in the case and 20 thou out front) ... and ... having a smaller diameter nose these guys slide into the chamber like butter. A big win win all around. I want to try the 155s too but the profile of these 165s is going to make it hard to switch.
  12. I have a JPoint on a 5 inch Core w/ the #2 plate. It co-witnesses just fine. IMHO ... you may find co-witness not a such biggie further down the road.
  13. Wow!! ... I have six and every time I sat down at the computer the last few days I had to remind myself I really didn't need anymore. Finally ... the pressure is off and I can relax ... I noticed they bumped the price back up to $15 today ...
  14. Anyone looking for a few more mags for their 40 caliber M&P ... I was shocked to see used LE turn-in magazines in stock at Natchez for $10 ... They have decent reviews. I was gonna put this in the "Gear" section for Black Friday deals but figured it would get buried. edit: (how about a link ... sigh ...) https://www.natchezss.com/m-p-40cal-357-sig-15rd-mag-l-e-used.html
  15. Optics Planet has an extra 11% off everything today ... (Black Friday) ... code BF11 http://www.opticsplanet.com/ Just picked up a Comp-Tac holster for an M&P that was already discounted to $48 and took another 11% off with the code (and free shipping) ... had to jump on that. Extreme Bullets has free shipping and 15% off everything!! (couldn't pass that either ... talk about lack of restraint ... sigh .... ). http://www.xtremebullets.com/
  16. I don't think the outline of the bullet inside the brass in my photo is what he is talking about. I just mentioned "bullet bulge" to hi-light how easy it was to observe the seating depth on those loads. The brass expansion from seating the bullet (as shown in the photo) is normal. If you seat deep enough into where the case thickens ... it will expand significantly. 160gr bullets are gonna need some more space ... 147s ... (in the photo) .. not such a biggie.
  17. Last two times I got them here ... with pasters etc. http://www.letargets.com/pc_product_detail.asp?key=52DF725839ED4207B32400704A2B32E0 edit: I have also gotten pasters and a neat bag to carry them in (holds pasters, stapler abt 15 targets IIRC) at Shooter's Connection.
  18. You might squeeze another tenth or two with the TG (just looking at 147 9mm load on the Hodgdon chart ... 9mm cases being the same length as SColt etc) .. but ... you would have a lot more head room with a slower power (IMHO) ... like CFE Pistol etc ... Of course ... if you move to the longer case ... Long Colt ... you have more room and still have plenty of bullet in the case (as you were saying). I ended up at 1.17ish .. as a target oal to try and keep at least 1/4 inch of the bullet inside the short colt case.
  19. The 147 blue bullets I am using average 150 as well ... they are the .358 ones. I suspect it is the same bullet just sized for the application.
  20. I don't think you have to load that long with those (blue) bullets (1.2) ... I load the 147 blue bullets (actually 150gr) and 147 extremes at 1.17 ... I am pretty sure there is plenty of room even shorter. I threw two on the table for a photo ... I think you can see the bullet bulge (using 3.7gr Unique in both loads).
  21. Yep!! +1 +1 ... I think this "Aiming is Useless" video has got my number (I always have a great sight picture before I miss) ... sigh ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li0rGtXh23I
  22. Brownells has a pack of 10 - 11lb wolf rebound springs (their item number - 969-000-033WB) for $16 or so. I can't find my pull weights anymore for just the rebound by itself but old notes say that an unmolested 11 pounder was similar (my measurement) to the Apex medium spring (.165 wire diameter ... that came with an N frame hammer kit). I ended up cutting two coils off an 11 pounder (as someone else recommended ... that was over 6000 rounds ago ... need to go back in soon and see if the "Apex light spring (.160) will work now ... it was significantly lighter but the gun was still a little too rough at the time to get away with it). The cut 11 pounder worked so good ... I made up a few extra ... putting one in my model 10 a friends model 19 and another friends N frame (swapped out for unmolested 11 pounders that we had already installed from the original package).
  23. Here is a Dlask (in stock) at Brownells ... a medium ... http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/trigger-group-parts/trigger-parts/triggers/medium-para-ordnance-trigger-sku253101010-5767-13758.aspx
