  1. IMHO .. I think these Columbia PFG Polo Shirts are outstanding for shooting. They are light ... hang nicely and are vented in the back. With the vent ... when you move your arms there is no tension/resistance .. They come in long or short sleeve but all mine are short sleeve. I have used separate uv sun sleeves with the shirt at times (mix colors). In the winter I have used them with a compression thermal undershirt and stayed plenty warm ... no bulk ... no movement tightness/resistance. Different colors are different prices ... there is always a color on sale. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NL4LEQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0089MUPLK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  2. Hopefully ... your qualified/experienced gunsmith has adjusted the trigger bar so that it fully lifts the striker block out of the way before releasing the striker. If the block is not fully "out of the way" it may bounce off the striker ... causing occasional light strikes. Sometimes ... in an effort to reduce trigger travel ... people bend out the tail of the bar to start sear movement earlier. That is great but if that "bump" on the top of the bar does not travel rearward far enough it will not lift the block high enough to fully clear the striker. If you remove the striker block you can examine it ... If it is all beat up then you know the striker is hitting it. There should be other threads discussing this issue ... here is one ... https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/246604-light-primer-strike-on-mp-40-after-installation-of-apex-trigger/
  3. I'm with you ... I purchased one too ($75-$80 for a 627 IIRC) ... (because of the cool factor) and after about a week gave it away to a new revolver shooter. Told them it didn't work for me ... and to pass it on to another shooter if it didn't work for them.
  4. Yes ... they are VZ G10 grips which came standard on the gun. At least they were standard when I purchased mine ... (May 2015 from Davidson's).
  5. Noooo .. only one or two ... Get the lasagna or spaghetti at Rays ...
  6. Wellll ... I was just thinking about all those old guys ... and how to keep them out there shooting!!
  7. +1 Plus (IMHO) ... get some glasses that allow you to hard focus on the front sight!! Watch the video!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lMYzJpD4n8
  8. Hey!! This isn't such a bad idea ... Super Seniors should be allowed to put an optic on anything ... and automatically be scored Major!! What a great rule change!!
  9. I have the two factory magazines ... an MBX and two SPS mags (w/ Grams baseplates). I originally had Grams springs and followers in the SPS bodies but got some inertia feed near the end of the magazine ... (Switching to the real SPS followers/springs cleared that all up). They all work great ... the factory are good w/ you start a stage w/ a low count - mandatory reload routine ... or for a rear pouch safety mag. You ("I") don't really need three 19/20 round mags to shoot a stage. I'm sure I could get by w/ just one MBX (or SPS) and one factory. Anyhow ... you can still buy the MBX and you can still buy the SPS (bodies/parts/whatever). I also picked up the "better" (IMHO) magwell on ebay (got two so just in case ... paid $40 each). I ordered the SPS parts right from Spain ... they added about $2.50 in transaction fee to my credit card because it was a foreign transaction. https://spsshop.es/en/tienda/magazines/mg-to-fit-para-ord/mgha140-140mm-hi-cap-mag-alu-pad-to-fit-para-ord/ https://mbxextreme.com/index.php?page=ParaMags edit: found some factory mags ... https://gunmagwarehouse.com/remington-1911-r1-40-s-w-18-round-blued-steel-magazine.html
  10. According to the Shooter Specialties site ... the "H" bar is the Massachusetts compliant trigger bar assembly ... http://www.speedshooterspecialties.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=103_90_115&products_id=888 They sell the (latest) "S" bar too .. but not as good a price as MGW.
  11. Yes ... he did the "Practical Shooting after Dark" interview. I'm glad I watched that. A lot of interesting things were discussed (w/o ... regard to any bearing on the election). IMHO it was a opportunity to briefly examine the demeanor/attitude of the candidate as well. I have to say ... the USPSA elections are the only ones where I have received an email announcing an election w/o any mention of the candidates or issues to be decided by the election (and no link to discover that information).
  12. I wonder if we will have a "do it again" re-vote again this time??
  13. The Valentine interview ("Practical Shooting after Dark - Episode 50") brings out some great points ... such as rule changes on the fly / member benefits ... etc ... bunch of stuff. It was very interesting to watch just to see what some of these "issues?" were really about. Makes you think about "what you think" and if they are issues or not. Easy to dust off but becomes kinda mandatory when other channels of information are suppressed or non-existent.
  14. +1 - Struggling to find candidate info ... I stumbled on this interview (on their "Practical Shooting after Dark" channel) and I am glad I did. I didn't think it was going to be too much ... but ... it wasn't long into the interview I started to do the "oh yeah ... now that you mention it" thing ...
  15. Yeah .. start at 3yds ... them move out to 5 ... and so on ... IIRC ... in one of his class reviews I read ... (Stoeger) ... he started everyone out at 5yds.
  16. Yep ... they are great loaded down for Production ... and when you want to shoot major ... just shoot limited 10!!
  17. If you are just looking for a draw/split time the distance is academic ... Do the dot drill ... start at 3/5 yds if you like. https://www.benstoeger.com/livefire-drill-the-dots
  18. Just wanted to note ... If you actually had to buy your brass (new) from Starline ... they sell 38 super and 38 super comp both for less than they sell 40 s&w ... AND .. they sell 38 special (a competition biggie ... not!!) for less than all of the above??!? I don't even pick up my 40 brass anymore ... and feel bad when someone does ... and then chases me down to make sure I get it (of course ... when that happens ... I take it w/ a smile and make sure they know I appreciate it). Knowing what I know now ... if I were just starting ... I would buy 9mm ...mail order ... in bulk ... shoot it and let it lie (seems to be getting very inexpensive). Go shoot ... go home and watch TV .. no reloading ... no picking up brass.
  19. Well ... if I have been hacked ... and I don't receive the ("gold ICORE") pin ... (or the free "taco bell on match day" coupon book) they promised ... in the mail ... in <60 days ... I will just complain to my credit card company and they will put 25 big ones back into my account!!
  20. It was a PayPal (domain) link ... set up for an individual (has personal information). An "invoice" for one year renewal and allows you to pay w/ a credit card ... or PayPal if you have an account etc.
  21. OK ... I see there is no entry of class (at registration) ... You only select an ICORE division to participate. Master, C or Unclassified ... no matter. AND ... It doesn't say it is an ICORE Revolver Championship ... just a Revolver Championship ... so it appears it is just an open revolver match that happens to be using ICORE rules. No requirement to be an ICORE member. OK .. Got it! Thanks ...
  22. Nah nah nah ... I just got an "online" registration renewal email ... (w/ a link to pay online).
  23. I'm a member ... Was just curious ... as I thought they let anyone shoot last year ... didn't see that addressed on the registration page.
