Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Took mine last week. No major issues other than what others have said about multiple rules being applicable. It only bit me on one question so I was fine. With the ability to search through a PDF file the test took about 25 minutes to complete.
  2. I did this at the Iowa Sectional. Stage 8, the target under the table that I meant to take as my fifth target just slipped my mind. First FTE in a couple years.
  3. Just a little sidetracked. The whole body going under/over is obvious and doesn't need discussing. After all the comments on multiple forums I feel like it isn't a big deal.
  4. Obviously you can't jump over or duck under if the wall is designated to infinity but my question is how much of your body is too much? I can grab the top of a wall that is in bounds for balance and that is OK. But can I lift my hand and gun over a 6' wall in order to turn a corner closer? Where is the line drawn?
  5. If a wall is designated to be to infinity would a procedural be appropriate if someone lifted their hand and gun over a corner of a wall to avoid it? See picture for context. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4wtox9vqwqucp85/uspsawalls.png?dl=0
  6. I took advantage of the brass buyback as well. Half the money was spent getting the brass there but it was better than the nothing it was doing sitting in my garage.
  7. I shot Freedom Munitions 135gr HP 9mm for a few years until they recently filed for bankruptcy and seemingly stopped manufacturing their own cartridges. I would buy in bulk when there was a combined 10% off plus free shipping deal. I would pay about 18-19 cents per bullet. With good timing on their bad luck I just got my Dillon 650 set up and will be reloading from now on.
  8. First stage jitters. You are simply more focused on what you are doing due to being nervous. As the day goes on you might go into auto-pilot until you get the mike then you're focused again.
  9. What Sumbeach and Dutchman have said, I clean the gun during the week leading up to the match and take it out for a hundred or so rounds just to get it a little dirty and make sure I didn't put something back together wrong. A dirty gun is a happy gun.
  10. Major and minor power factor only determines the point value of your hits. All limited classifiers scores are counted in one bunch.
  11. I've been using Howard Leight Impact for a few years now and have no reason to look elsewhere.
  12. I'm still fairly new to USPSA and I spent my first year of shooting majors shooting with friends just so I would be more comfortable. This is my second year and I'm focusing on squadding with the best I can.
  13. I would be very interested in going in on an order for a PT frame. I'm going to buy one of their new EVO grips and would like to have a PT frame as well. PM me if there is any info on a group purchase.
  14. Just popping in to say hello from Central Illinois. I've been browsing this forum for a few months but have never posted anything.
