  1. To my knowledge they still do. More than likely will start sometime later this week and generally goes past new years day.
  2. Dr. Mitch I agree with you wholeheartedly. Revolver division is the way to go. All joking aside, I have no experience in IDPA so I remain silent here, but seeing as how restrictive the rules are in NY, shooting revolver has a greater possibility of being competitive overall in that geographic region. Just wanted to offer it as a consideration.
  3. Thanks for the response. If the racer works fine with L & N frames, that does make me consider it as spending less money is never a bad thing. I appreciate everybody's input and willingness to share their experiences with these holster systems.
  4. Considering the looming panic has now farily well subsided, hopefully the return of abundant primer resources is not far off. It will be wise to purchase often and build a solid reserve, even if you feel no urgency (when they do return). We still have about 150 cases of the 100s and GM100s on order that we placed this year (we had 4 whole cases arrive the other day, hopefully the rest aren't far behind). A454, thanks for sharing your information as always. I was testing with some of the Federal GM200s last year and found about what you did, they did need to be hit harder. On chrono, mine only averaged about 30 FPS different (4" barrel).
  5. Will the racer work for both L and N frames, or do you need 2 different holsters for that? Breaking the cost down: if I buy the Race master and two inserts, it can run the same belt and moonclip holder (I'm switching to the North Mountain). It would cost less than two belts, two holders and two racer holsters (if I can't use it for both frame sizes).
  6. Thanks a lot for your input Alec. I currently own a Bladetech (and the CR speed). This helps quite a bit. I think I'll go ahead and get the DAA and get it set up and start using it. When we do our Hogue order for the store next year I'll add one of their holsters to the order just to mess around with it and see if I like it. Alex, thanks for your input as well. I was actually going to text you and ask about your experience with it. P.S. we need to talk sometime about Central Region stuff when you get some free time.
  7. Skyline. We had skyline in Louisville and had eaten it for years before going to Cincy. I didn't mind Goldstar, but it wasn't what I was used to.
  8. So, what I thought was going to be a quick "just buy the DAA already" ended up becoming "solid choices, but also consider ____", I may need to ask more questions. Does anybody have any bad experiences from the DAA Racemaster? Or any reason to not get it? Part of why I wanted to get away from the CR speed is because of the muzzle plug thing. I want something I can use for L and N frame guns without having to swap a lot of parts around (I plan to use it for the L-6 686, a 617, 5" 627, and eventually 929). I want the gun to fit securely in the holster (most of the guys say the DAA is pretty secure). For those who have the Guga Ribas and the Hogue (only one mention of the ghost and sloppy isn't what I want), is it fairly effortless to adjust for use with those different guns?
  9. I lived in Cincy for a couple years (Price Hill area), the Bengals fans are why I left. Congrats on expanding your participation in your shooting hobby/addiction. Reloading is yet another method of emptying your pocket, you will soon be as broke and happy as the rest of us. Good luck!
  10. I thought that holster was just for Semi-autos, all the info states what pistols it fits, nothing about fitting a revolver. Does it work just fine without fitting/machining anything (both L and N frames)?
  11. So I have been considering replacing the CR speed I am currently running and have been leaning towards the DAA Race Master (yes I would end up getting more blocks for other guns). I have used the DAA, I like it, but I am wondering if I am overlooking something that some of the others offer (specificall the Guga Ribas or a Ghost). Is there any reason to conider those other holsters or just forget it and go DAA?
  12. Ahh no problem man. I saw the email this morning when I was studying for exams today, I was excited to see it I couldn't not post it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You didn't believe me? Had to check for yourself? That hurts man. No trust anymore.[emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So if you got the email today you probably already know. They just announced the 2017 IRC match dates and location. Nov. 3-5, 2017 at the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, FL. I definitely plan to return next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I would guess that is probably what he is talking about. The 640 is an all steel 357, I still pack one of those heavy things every now and then. I picked up a 642 last year to have something lighter. Nice for carrying everyday, shoots just as well as the 640. I have only put about 700-800 through it so far, but no issues yet. One of my co-workers has been carrying one for about the last 8 years, no issues other than he's beaten the finish up in a couple areas.
  16. Here's a link to the firing pins, its on the same page as the hammers. https://store.apextactical.com/WebDirect/Products/Details/191695
  17. I'm running the Apex hammer in my 686 SSR that I am running for ICORE (Limited-6 gun). It was well worth the money to just be able to drop it in and get a lighter, smoother trigger pull right off the bat. I am using the medium weight rebound spring supplied by Apex and then adjusted the strain screw to where I was getting consistently reliable ignition on primers. I also installed an extended firing pin. You won't be sorry you did it.
  18. He went to make a reload and problems ensued, by the time I saw what was happening, he had the cylinder in one hand, the rest of the gun in the other. I do think he had the fastest raw time for that stage though. He luckily had spare parts and was able to finish the rest of the match without issue.
  19. Hahaha. Yeah, I learned a lot also. Needless to say there are a few more parts I hadn't considered before going in the oops kit from now on. If we can go again next year, then I am sure it will be a better experience (no guns breaking) and more prepared in general. I know that going into this winter and next season I am going to be putting a lot more effort into my shooting.
  20. There is some talking going on about getting it back together. From what Alaskan454 (Wildcat ICORE MD) and I gathered at the IRC is that there are a lot of people who seem interested in shooting this match if it were to come back. I am going to send some emails to the people at ICORE and get some information to look at getting the ball rolling to put this match on again. I can promise that if we are going to make this happen I will make a big announcement to let people know about it.
  21. Yep. I was shooting L6 and that was the way I ran it. I missed one of the poppers by a hair and it made for some scrambling to get the pickups. That being said it was a lot of fun shooting the IRC. It was nice meeting a lot of you guys down there, and I hope to make it back next year. Watching the caliber of shooters out there has made me realize I need to put a lot more work into this to get where I want to be. Alaskan454, it was nice having you on our squad and getting to meet you. Hopefully we'll be able to shoot more club matches together next season. Considering where you placed and how well you were shooting; it makes it that much tougher to see what happened to you on the first stage.
  22. Alright guys, here are the scores from the match. I hope you all had a good time as I have had this year and I look forward to more matches next year. http://silvercreekcc.org/files/2016/09/ICORE-SCORES-9_25_16.pdf
  23. Just a reminder about tomorrow's match. We are going to do last minute set up/target placement at 8, registration starts at 9 in the clubhouse, shooting to start at 10.
