  1. Not sure how many of you are aware, but here is a great website for anyone looking for future training classes around the US. I don’t know of any other website out there that has a consolidated listing of classes from so many different instructors around the country. There is also a place to read and submit reviews of the different companies as well as course AARs . http://www.firearmtrainingreviews.com/
  2. I don't understand what you mean by this, can you elaborate?
  3. Tom, that's an interesting observation, thank you for pointing it out. Although my recoil spring isn't too light (factory heavy recoil master), the ammo is reloaded which could possibly have been oversized slightly, causing it to not fully chamber all the way. I will keep an eye out for this type of malfunction again (hammer back) but I'm hoping it was an ammo issue and not a gun issue.
  4. thanks gino, very helpful reply and beneficial to the discussion. can i offer you some unsolicited free advice??
  5. Not sure, happened in the middle of a stage so I didn't recognize. The gun has just shy of 2000 rds through it and all the trigger parts are factory except for the actual trigger itself.
  6. Thank you, after hearing all the different options and "possibilities" that seems like the easiest and cheapest place to start.
  7. Yes top screws are tight. I really hope I don't have to swap out grips. When I had all the recent trigger work done I had the smith install and fit a new Extreme Shooters grip and of course I've already sold the original factory grip.
  8. I'm 99% sure it wasn't a shortstroke, especially since 2 of the 3 times there was a problem the hammer was fwd when it should have been back. It happened the 3 times shown in the video during a 250 round match. It happened one other time prior, during the previous 1000+ rds I've fired, but I didnt get it on video to be able to see exactly what happened.
  9. also checked this and there is enough overtravel
  10. checked this, and everything works fine
  11. no its not. The way I grip the gun if it was activated it would not disengage
  12. http://s166.beta.pho...f6fb5c.mp4.html My 2011 Executive is getting a sporadic "dead trigger", and I have no idea why. please watch this video and let me know if anyone else has experienced this. notice in the first 2 stages, the hammer ends up fwd after the slide cycles, yet on the 3rd stage the hammer stays cocked but I still get a "dead trigger". I recently had the trigger smoothed and lightened by Derek at Millenium, but I remember the same thing happening one other time shortly before he did anything.
  13. Has anyone ever purchased the STI 2011 pre-fitted slide & frame kit from Brownells? This is the one I am thinking about getting: STI
  14. Very very UNHAPPY with mine!! I cant get it to cycle anything reliably (Walmart cheapy, Win AA, or Federal target loads). Sometimes wont fully eject, other times bolt locks back when not empty, other times bolt releases but doesnt fully go fwd. Between 200-300 rds so far and put in a stronger mag spring, new o-ring, aluminum follower, and oil the crap out of it... all to no avail. Anyone with any suggestions please chime in...
  15. Thanks for the tip. I tried moving the ends of the spring around but that didn't cure it. Spoke with Glock and they are sending me some new spring cups, he said they should be changed anytime the channel liner is changed. Hopefully all will be well once I get the new parts in.
  16. Help!! with the slide off and being held upside down, I push in the safety plunger but the striker does not fall through the hole. I have to push it down ever so slightly and then it does, but my G17 falls right through without help. I cleaned the channel out and even pulled the liner out (waiting on the new one to replace it) but it still sticks. Does anyone have any ideas of what ewlse might be the problem. It does it with both a reduced power striker spring and the factory one...
  17. Anyone out there using 200 gr jacketed or plated bullets (mine are Berry flat points) with W231 powder that has a consistent 165 PF? If so what is yor charge and OAL? I cant seem to get mine where I need it.
