  4. I did purchase 9mm/38 specific, it won't go in the frame i figured i would start sanding and try to make it even Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  5. Can someone tell me what the best method is to remove material from the pin? I purchased a new slide stop and it will not go through the hole on my 2011 sti frame, any help would be appreciated, I don't want to ruin it . Thanks Kevin
  6. I have a CzCustom 75 shadow #91715 no rail, I use it for production and it runs great, quick on target, fits my small hands well , you can shoot several matches in between cleanings (I clean every time) mags are cheap Mecgar 17 round blue follower works great, and about $25 per. I also have an sti 2011 in 9mm, this guns a bit different in the grip department, I like the grip and feel but it is very different from the shadow, the only issue I have had is magazines reliability, and cost, I have 8 140mm with grams springs and followers, and Dawson base pads, I have yet to try them out (with new internals), gun is very smooth and trigger is fantastic. Recently I picked up an SVI 40 s&w Swat pistol with 6 old SVI mags the fit is amazing and the grip seems smaller than standard 2011 STI. In conclusion, both are awesome just shoot them you will see! Good luck my 2 cents Kevin
  7. I am not a gunsmith, and definitely don't have a bunch of patience. Having said that I was able to fit an Ed Brown ambi safety. It took a little time and as a couple mentioned before, always fit to the frame without internals first, and take your time. Mine functions perfectly. My 2 cents. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  8. So an update, I was able to track down 2 older sti tubes I think they were 135mm. I'm waiting on internals to check capacity.

  13. Ok so I just got done building my 1st 2011 sti. Ises good parts and gun seems to run great. Recently I did a trade and got some base pads and mags. 2 of the base pads are not normal. On the outside they seem like normal +1 base pads. But on 2 of them the magazine doesn't seat all the way, actually it seats avout half way. Can anyone help me figure out what they are used for? They came installed on 170mm mags. If they go on 140mm mags they won't be limited legal. Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

  17. Ok a little late to chime in but here I go. Started shooting uspsa with a glock, found a real good deal on a cz shadow custom short dust cover. The shadow was amazing shot it in production and in limited minor the gun never missed a beat! Then I had surgery on my foot in April this year, I am still recovering so been doing a lot of sitting. Ended up trading my shadow for a glock gen 4 34 with about 1300$ worth of upgrades. Never even shot it and got an offer I couldnt refuse. A buddy offered me an sti 2011 long wide frame kit with a kart bushing barrel already fit, as well as a frw internal parts and an sti slide almost complete. Also included one 9mm 140mm mag. So I traded ended up spending $160 at shooters connection then another $60 at speed shooting (I think) and I ended up with an amazing 2011 that has run flawless the 1st time out. I am vy no means a gunsmith! But I took my time and bought good parts fit a few and WOW! is all I can say. Dont get me wrong my shadow was amazing and someday I will probably buy an accu shadow, but for now I am amazed. It is by far the most amazing gun I have ever used. The down side is the mags, the one that came with it is somewhat tuned, I have 2 more coming. As far as I'm concerned I think I got a pretty good deal of you can find a deal on one or you are handy with hand tools I would definitely suggest getting one! My 2 cents.
