  1. Hayes custom guns is now selling their own magwell for the RIA http://hayescustomguns.com/rock-island-competition-magwell/
  2. Feel like i am a little late to the party but I just registered. Really looking forward to my first night match.
  3. I have one in all my rifles. I absolutely love it! That said I would do just as you said and leave a functioning rifle alone until a deal comes up. I am sure you will be very happy you got one when the day comes.
  4. If you don't have a problem buying used (I do all the time) just stalk this sight and other forums and pick up some quality stuff 2nd hand. I wouldn't recommend getting cheap stuff just to save money because you will end up spending more replacing it. trust me I have learned my lesson, unfortunately it took me a few times to learn this lesson.
  5. I finally broke down and this is what I ended up with.
  6. This is what I have been using and seen many other using as well. I have had it for about a year and a half and it has held up extremely well so far. https://www.amazon.com/Safariland-4556-3-Gun-Competition-Black/dp/B006ASLLU4
  7. You're welcome. If you you like to see any other picks just let me know and i will try and get them posted for you
  8. Saul, you are right that was a bit of a blanketed statement sorry. So for the record...the spacer with the notch, in my experience, doesn't fit the race master mag pouch. That said, perhaps you could consider including a spacer that would fit with the race master as well. I might only be speaking for myself here but I really like the idea of the anti-rotation security of the spacer and since we (race master owners) have to sacrifice the ball joint attachment in order to use the rail system the spacer allows for fine angle adjustments with out having to worry about finding a serrated washer that fits or using loctite. As I stated before I really like the product and your products in general, as I intent to switch everything over to DAA as some point (wallet providing), this is not me complaining, this is just my 2 cents.
  9. I just finished setting up my new rig using the new DAA rail system, perhaps this might give you a bit of an idea of how they look/work. Pros - ability to change things around to suit your situation, ability to rotate your pouches to any degree, sit very tight (very little movement), small, and light. Cons - not as easily interchangeable as ELS system, NOTHING fits (not even their own mag pouches). I will explain...there is a notch on the alpha rail system that prevents the mag pouches exc. from rotating but that notch is too big to even fit in their own race master pouches. I had to modify everything I own in order to make this rig work. I had to drill out larger holes on both Invictus quad loaders, as well as the Safariland AR mag pouch. To make them fit in the race master pouches I had to shave down the notch to make it thinner in order to fit. It was a pain in the ass but I will say I think it was all worth it in the long run. If I am unclear with my explanation hopefully the pics will help.
  10. thats what i figured. But thats a very expensive way to go and seem a bit redundant to me. do you think you could just drill holes in the belt and mount them like the ELS system?
  11. How do you have the TMMS system mounted to your belt?
  12. I am about to take the leap and purchase a set of custom molded electronic ear-plugs and have come across this company Tactical hearing. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them, positive or negative?
  13. I will keep my fingers crossed for you bc mine was months. Granted it was entirely worth it.
  14. As far as I know they are chromed. I was told my entire lower was refinished
  15. do you have any pics of it to show where it isn't blended well? I had the same issue when I first got my DVC Limited. It was so bad that after only a few hundred rounds I could hardly shoot the gun. Fortunately I am close to STI so when i contacted them about the problem I was told to just come by. I was able to show them my hand and how/where the edges where digging in to me. I was told to leave it and they could fix it, and fix it they did! I have put hundreds of round through it since I got it back with out and issue. It is an absolute pleasure to shoot now. They should just build them this way.
  16. if you are willing to spend the money BOBRO makes a great light weight mount (lighter than the Larues at least)
  17. Mark, do you think the fluted Stretch 16 is worth the extra money for the weight savings? Do you think it would have any negative affect towards muzzle rise with a "newer" shooter
  18. I was a little confused by that as well. Thanks for clearing it up.
  19. Thank you guys for all you input. I have been leaning towards the KMR for a while but thought I should keep my options open before committing. I figure I could always put on some key mod covers if I find it to get too hot. I think thats the way I am going to go, despite the highest price tag
  20. I am using the run what you got methodology right now, which is working just fine but I am looking to build something dedicated for 3 gun. Mostly because i want to build a lighter weight, softer shooting rifle and with (maybe false) hopes that it will improve my game. Currently I am using my LWRCI M6IC and have found that to run warm in a few conditions, never really one particular stage.
  21. I am looking for a good light weight hangaurd and these are the two that I am going between for my new 3gun build. I am concerned that the BCM will get too hot to handle due to its low profile. I do like the price of the Ap customs though. Suggestions, thoughts?
  22. That depends on your size, how you set up your guns and what ranges you plan to shoot at. The Stretch16 does everything for me that I can do with the Nordic. However, if your longer range AR skills are not great, you will be able to shoot the 18" a little better. I am 5'11" @ 180lbs. My long range game is nothing to right home about but I am looking to build a rifle to "grow into" so to speak. I am sure there in no wrong choice with these two barrels its more of what will be better over all as I go from beginner to...lets say experienced.
