I am looking at a set of these but thought I would see if any of you have tried them and if you have, do you like them? If you don't like them, what didn't you like? I can appreciate that. I have used Power Pistol for quite some time in jacketed and plated and I agree with this statement but I don't think that I had ever seen a consistent change in the swings (Std Dev) such that as the velocity shifted downward, so did the variance. With Power Pistol, I would have thought the exact opposite in that with the bullet seat deeper, pressure would have been increased and the powder would have burned more thoroughly and consistently as opposed to the other extreme where there was more amount of "air gap" between the bullet and powder. Regardless, thank you for your input and it does make sense.

I have been working on a solidly consistent performer in my Stock 2 for USPSA Production and while I DO NOT claim to be a "know it all", I have a loaded several different variations for 9mm in different weights with different powders and fine tuned some real tack drivers for several of my guns as well as friends guns. With that said, today I was chronogrphing (3) different OAL's and as expected, the velocity slowly dropped as the OAL grew. The perplexing thing is that, as the velocity dropped as the OAL grew, the Standard Deviation dropped as well. I'm not lost on the fact that Std Dev can be affected by several variations as related to any process but this was fairly static. Yes, everything was mixed brass but I made all my chrono loads at the same setting and the only thing that changed was OAL. Anyone care to help me better understand the correlation between OAL combined with velocity to positively affect Std Dev? Screen shots of chrono results are attached

I have been playing with this weight in BBI brand. I too, have a new S2 that has not been reamed...yet... With that said, I have found them to be fairly accurate with no leading. As mentioned above, my chamber/throat hasn't been reamed and the longest I could load to is 1.08. This short OAL with 4.3gr of Power Pistol makes right at 137 PF.

+1 on Stoeger kits...and for Stock 2 with the factory would grips. I have huge hands and I was dead set on buying the CZ until I got my hands on the Stock 2. The Blade Tech holster they have is also a good deal. However, I'm not sure what the holster is actually made for since Blade Tech doesn't actually make a holster for the Stock 2...regardless, it works...

I have a set and they latch using the factory floor plate as it "snaps" in to the hole in the Springer base pad. They lock up good and no, they don't add any extra capacity.

Hello, I recently bought a new Witness Stock 2 for my new Production Division gun. It is, without a doubt, the nicest gun I have ever bought myself. Before I bought it, a friend of mine was trying to convince me to go to Limited and give up Production. With that said, if I choose to later on, can I buy a slide, barrel, guide rod, and spring in .40 (mags too) and just remove my 9mm top end from the frame and run it in Limited? Has anyone else done this and the gun ran reliably?

Hey there Intercoolet2, Nice, really nice! I'm new to the platform and have a Stock 2. Can you tell me if the trigger in your gun would work in mine? I love my new gun and have regrets about making the switch from polymer to steel frame but the heavy curve of the trigger in the stock 2 is not all that comfortable for me. Thanks!

I was having a very similar discussion over at the EAA specific section. I have some of the 135gr BBI and I had to take them down to 1.08 to fit my Stock 2 and I actually asked about having the throat reamed.

Thanks all. I have loaded several different profiles but this is the first barrel I've ever had that is so "particular". I have some 135gr BBI that I was working on for the other gun and even those have to go to 1.08. Thanks for mentioning the 147gr FP's, I can get those pretty easily and will give them a try.

Yes, I heard this from some and not too much from others and I would think I would have to adjust a little but I wasn't ready for that much of a change. Thanks for the info!

Hello all, I'm a very proud owner of a new Stock 2 in 9mm. This gun will replace my FNS-9L as my new USPSA Production gun. As such, I have about 600 rounds of ammo made up and thankfully, I tried the "plunk" test before just "assuming" it would fit...and it did not... Apparently, the FNS has a longer (yes, I wanted to say it) throat as compared to the shorter one of the Stock 2. Regardless, I went from an OAL of ~1.115-1.120 to 1.07 before the case would seat without the bullet touching the lands. With the background and issues noted, I guess my questions for the group are as follows: Is this a common issue among Stock 2's (Tanfoglio in general)? If so, do you just live with it and watch your load development? Has anyone taken it to a gunsmith and had it reamed or the leading edges of the lands relieved? Thank you for your time and constructive input is appreciated!

For me, the comparison is that they (Springers) are just slightly over half the price of the Stoeger's...have the Springers on my FNS rig and they work fine!

I read this topic AFTER ordering a set from Springer and I ended up emailing them last night about it. Won't hear anything back from them until later today but I feel better about my purchase after reading BeerBaron's response!

As soon as you figure it out, please let me know...I need to do the same thing...
