  1. According to USPSA, all past rulings have been rolled into the 2019 rule book. All I see that addresses this is Appendix D7 21.3: "You may replace the slide with an OFM or aftermarket slide of the same length, contour and caliber as the original slide for that model of gun." That model of gun is a Glock 23. Throwing a Glock 19 slide/barrel on it does not magically turn it into a Glock 19. Again, this rule is dumb and needs changed. I understand it stemmed from the conversion barrel issue and shouldn't matter anymore. However, the rules pretty clearly state you cannot change the caliber of your gun. If you can find something in the rule book that says otherwise, please provide it. If someone wants to play the "its not against the rules if nobody finds out" game, that's their deal. I'm not about that. Emailing DNROI may very well get it changed. They've "adjusted" bigger things before..
  2. The rule says the caliber must be the same as the original slide for that model. As for that last bit, just because nobody would ever know doesn’t mean it’s not against the rules.
  3. I’m looking at picking up some kydex mag pouches from Weber Tactical for open. They’re offered in either single and double layer kydex. Is the double layer necessary on a mag pouch? I’ve never used kydex pouches and don’t know how much abuse a single layer pouch will take.
  4. Yeah this is a dumb rule. I really expected it to be changed with the 2019 update but it’s still there.
  5. Here’s my “old” timer. My grandfather gave it to me when I started USPSA.
  6. LeBronze sure looked good though.
  7. I was pretty bad. I think the only people I beat at my first match were my buddy(also shooting his first match) and a guy local to me who literally cares so little about results he doesn’t even look at the scores. I shot a 20 something on the classifier.
  8. Whatever one entertains you the most. You can’t take any of them seriously.
  9. I have also had very good experience with Aguila. I started buying it when I couldn’t find Armscor anymore and still buy it any time I need factory ammo for something. Always reliable and makes PF.
  10. My Stock 2 is a great gun, but the trigger was awful when I got it. I’m like you and expected at least a decent one like that on the Shadow 2. Nope. With a box of parts from Patriot Defense and a lot of time spent watching MemphisMechanic’s YouTube series, the gun is very nice now and the trigger is just how I like it.
  11. Before I reloaded I used Armscor 124gr. Chrono’d about at 135 pf out of my G34 and felt very similar to Titegroup reloads at the same power factor.
  12. Excellent. That was the only thing keeping me from picking one up.
  13. I know people who use their normal major loads because that’s what they’re used to regarding recoil impulse and timing the gun.
  14. Is the safety ambidextrous? I passed up one of these because I didn’t think the safety could be switched.
  15. The best way I’ve seen to improve shot calling is to shoot at a distance at which you can not see the hits on paper, and then declare where your hits will be before going to check. Steve Anderson uses this method in classes to teach shot calling. I’ve always just said to myself “ok I’m gonna have two Cs when I get up there,” as opposed to the paster mentioned above but that’s probably a bit better.

    MAC RAPIDO

I wouldn’t really expect it to for $1800 brand new. I don’t know of any mass produced open gun you can buy that comes with anything but one standard mag. They take STI magazines btw.
  17. +1 on using PD’s reaming service. They did my Stock 2 barrel with great results. I sent them a few dummy rounds with different OAL, bullet profiles, etc. to make sure they had examples of everything I might load. Turnaround was very fast. Just a couple days iirc.
  18. Is this TiN or cerakote? If it’s cerakote, what color was used? Kind of hard to tell from the pictures.
  19. This isn’t exactly apples to apples. A Glock which likely had a lightened striker spring is a very different situation than a 2011 open gun. Glocks can be very primer sensitive when the triggers are significantly lightened. Conversely, you can tune a 2011 trigger lighter than any Glock and still have it ignite anything you put in it.
  20. I don’t crimp 9mm Minor loads at all and have never had accuracy issues, but I use FMJ bullets, so ymmv.
  21. Hm. I can only get 28 in my SVI tube. Grams guts and Dawson basepad.
  22. That blue is gorgeous. It gives sort of a burnt titanium look in spots.

    Enlarging Grip

I haven’t tried anything yet, actually. I don’t shoot a Glock in USPSA anymore for the aforementioned reason, so it’s sort of a back burner project.
  24. It seems like any time they try and do this at our locals, a handful of squads shoot them separately and back up the match.
  25. I like how aggressive the 3m Safety Walk tape is. It does wear pretty quickly though and I find it needs replaced 2-3 times a year. I think it’s worth it, no skateboard tape I’ve tried comes close to how coarse the 3m tape is.
