Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I use Titegroup in almost all my pistol loads and don't find it that dirty. IME, it's the firearm lubrication that one uses that is the true culprit when it comes to collecting crub in your gun. That being said, I almost exclusively utilize Balistol to clean all my firearms and then apply Weapon Shield as the lubricant. I've found the more you use Weapon Shield, the easier it is to clean your firearm as the crud literly just wipes off. Weapon Shirld also has the added benifit of almost "rejecting" the buildup of crap in your gun. Great stuff it is...
  2. I utilize WEAPON SHIELD almost exclusively as a firearm lubricant and have found it perfect for this application. I just put a small drop on my finger and work it into the firing pin, clean my fingers with a Q-Tip which i then use to lube the firing pin channel.
  3. We use the Laser-Ammo SureStrike barrel insert. By the same folks who publish LASR and Smokeless Range simulators... for the most part, the laser insert works really well in most DA/SA pistols like a CZ. I also use it with a 1911 and 12g shotgun.
  4. another +1 for Tripp Cobra mags and Dawson basepads... flawless performance in all three of my 1911's...
  5. I'm using a Safariland GLS 578 Longslide holster with an Invictus Practical drop-offset hanger... works really well and zero spills in 30+ 3gun matches... the locking tension can be disabled for USPSA pistol matches...
  6. I'm shooting a P-01 with CGW internals and TruGlo TFX sights from a JM Custom Kydex IWB holster... weighted right and way more accurate than I'll ever be...
  7. IME this issue effects Shadows as well... jb
  8. i too have had binding issues with the Comp-Tac and both a CZ SP-01 Shadow and a 75-Shadow. Application of a heat gun to the tight areas solved the problem. I also added rubber washers as additonal spacers to the tension posts.
  9. begun to have issues with the rear Kensight on my Shadow Target. After 20 to 30 rounds, the front pin starts to drift out and always to the right. Blue LocTite works for a while but it just keeps on wanting to drift... grrr...
  10. Brooke... you are so right on there brother... a stock CZ is a far cry from one that's even had a minimal amount of work put into it.
  11. I own and shoot a CZC SP-01 Shadow Target, a CGW SP-01 Shadow "Custom" and a CZC 75 Shadow. The Shadow Target (pre short reset) and CGW Shadow came with all the goodies from their respective shops while the 75 Shadow was bone stock. Both SP-01 Shadows are very nice pistols however IMO the CGW Shadow Custom had a far nicer trigger setup which included the short reset. I've since done further polishing on both SP-01's, installed a CGW Type-1 disco and new sear in the Shadow Target, matched all springs, pins, grips, guide rods and setups (as best as my modest and novice gunsmithing chops would allow). At this point, I'm hard pressed to tell any performance difference between those two SP-01's and they both way outshoot my skill level. I've also done a complete workup on the 75 Shadow with a combination of parts and knowledge from CGW, CZC and the KneelingAtlas threads in this forum. I tried to match parts and mimic the work done to my other Shadows as much as possible and am more than exstatic with the results especially the DA weight, rediculously short reset and ultra crisp break. This 75 Shadow's balance, ergonomics, feel and performance is second to none next to my other CZ's and it's quickly become my fave for IDPA and steel. As always... YMMV...
  12. thy this link: around 5:30 there's a few examples of the disco in motion...
  13. work done and just got my TS-40 back from Cerakote last week... 1. grip and dustcover redux 2. trigger and beavertail undercut 3. CZC flat trigger and pin 4. CZC SS guiderod 5. Hogue Grip (for now)
