  1. I slowed down using it for a bit, but now with small pistol primers basically unicorn horns, unless you want to pay some scalper on GB 10X retail, and the last I saw, 9mm 115 gr was 0.65-0.70 cents a round, it seems to make sense again. Now this costs what 500 rounds of practice ammo would cost. No brainer. I still think it is helpful, and it did point out that my weak hand grip was well, weak. The dot was making circles, and tracking up and down. Slowly getting better .......
  2. Wow ! I have never seen this in my guns - I have been shooting an X5 in CO since 2018, and have 25000 rounds through it. I just got a 2nd this Spring, and have 5000 through that. Do we think that this is inherent in the gun, and if I have not seen it yet, I may not have to worry ?
  3. Being superstitious is bad luck.

Will mail out tonight if I make it home in time. Otherwise Monday  because of the holiday. Thanks.

  6. I understand. I would like to be first on the list if the trigger is available, please.

  7. Good afternoon Mark,

I am interested in the adjustable Keres trigger for $50 shipped. Let me know how you wish to proceed.

  8. That sucks man, at least no one got hurt. I started shooting at an indoor range and the guys that ran the matches were very strict on safe stuff, as we often had a lot of very new shooters. I developed a habit at "unload, show clear" of showing an empty mag well, and then an empty chamber to the RO. Saved we twice from that same issue you had. We live, learn and move on !
  9. If you like, I find a fold up wagon is nice to haul stuff bay to bay. Some guys will rig a jogging stroller into a "baby carriage of mayhem" , esp the PCC guys. I have seen guys mount a nice platform as well for loading mags.
  10. Any sporting goods store that does paintball stuff. I use ( grudgingly) Dick's Sporting goods
  11. Nice job! Will they let you holster or do you need to bag it ? I have never seen any one not come to the line with the 22 in a anything but a bag
  12. I am interested in the Masterclass membership in exchange for a donation to the forum. How can we proceed, sir ?

Great, I’ll send the information to masterclass. Let me know if there are any issues. Thank you.

  13. Silent - you have a double layer ratchet belt ? I thought I saw one from Vound ? Is that what you have, and if so, what do you think ?
  14. I have a RHT that I used in production and CO, and it converted me to the benefits of the stiff double layer. All the singe layer kydex holsters were unceremoniously dumped. Never tried Weber, but I have tried GX and they are great holsters as well. It seems we all have a box of unloved equipment - I thought I was the only one who bought stuff fast, hated it, and then kept it around to mock my poor decision making
  15. I just got a GX Vice holster to replace a RHT. Both are very thick, stable holsters ( compared to the single layer of my first cheap-ass holster) , but the GX is noticeably thicker. My RHT has done well for the last 2 years, and I still think it is a good holster, but the design on the lock mechanism on the Vice is really nice, and takes the GX to a higher level. Also it may just be a factor of the GX being newer, but the finish is much cleaner and the design seems nicer, more efficient You will not regret either, but I am loving the new hotness of the GX.
  16. I just watched the you tube review and I would really agree with pretty much everything there, though I will say that the recoil is actually pretty close to my steel loads and just a bit wimpier than my USPSA loads ( 147 gr coated over 3.4 gr VV N320) . I guess if you are used to factory 115's it would be soft. I have never fired an open gun, so no way to compare the feeling. The dot does make a bit more of a circle than an "up and down", but I figure I am learning to watch it either way, and the fact I can track it at all is a win. I have not seen the barrel freeze and slow down, even when I am hammering away, but I am a bit obsessive with lube and use a lot of oil on the coolfire when I put it in the gun I agree that there is still a place for non fire, technique dry fire, and I do that , often w/o the cool fire in, but as I have no easy range, I do like the semi live fire experience. Again, there is a bit of difference - I can rip a surrender draw to dot on target in 0.8-0.9 dry all day , but when I try with the Coolfire and pull the trigger and the dot jumps, it seems I am not as settled and on target as I like. This has helped my first shot is steel as I have to get that grip, bear down and see the dot a bit clearer. But hey, it is another tool, and if you think it will help, it likely will. for the cost of a case and a half of 9mm, it was worth it to me.
  17. Update - I have been using the Coolfire fairly regularly and I am still feeling that this is positively effecting my shooting, both USPSA, and maybe more on steel challenge. The unit is holding up pretty well, though it seems to eat striker tips pretty regularly, and they need to be replaced for it to run well. And those little suckers are a bi#%h to get on, and 1 or to have flown off the bench, never to be seen again. Eric at CoolFire has been very responsive to questions, and offering help when things seemed off. Looking forward to spring shooting !
  18. Yep ! I thought I was the only doofus that did that. I installed an extended mag release on a P320 and dropped the mag on the first shot out of the holster 3 stages in a row , before I figured that out. I was a bit new, and kept thinking I was screwing up the grip on the draw. 3 min with the Dermel was all it took. Good times, good times........
  19. Dang that sucks ! I know this is not your responsibility and may be totally out of your interest or concerns , but do you know if he is teaching at any other matches ?
  20. Well crap - looked like it was a go to sign up, ......... and then cancelled. Does any one know if Max does that class- shoot the match as a squad thing at any other match ? The Max Michel website is not really offering any options - I am not really thinking the calendar is up to date. Thanks for any help, as usual
  21. Thanks Paul, I fully believe he is worth training with - I was very impressed watching him train people in Oklahoma. I totally understand needing downtime time with the family, an my hope was to train next year, regardless. If you have an alternative way to contact him, I would be very appreciative. I will look into Mr Herron as well.
  22. Some how I do not think that will work. Unfortunately I have still not heard a word back.
  23. Thanks for all the great load data guys. I finally had some time to " mad scientist" some options, and found that through the P320 X5, with a 12 lb spring, the nicest feeling, and most accurate was 124 grand Berry flat tops, over 3.5 grains of VV N320. - I could go down to 3.3 but then there were some FTE's. The 115 grains did fine over 3.8 grains of VV N320, but the rounds were a bit spread out at 10 yards. Arguably I suck, and pin point accuracy is not a priority in SC, but I liked the 124's a bit better.
  24. Thanks valerko, I am really glad to hear that review. I was very impressed with what I observed at the OK Sectional match, and that is why I am trying so hard to contact him. Normally my really short attention span would have pushed me in another direction by now. I will keep banging away here, and again, if anyone has ANY suggestions, I will try them as well !
  25. Hello Cary,

I am sorry to bother you, but I was at the OK Sectional last summer, and saw Max Michel teaching a squad. I heard he does this every year. I would really like to try and get this training but I have been unable to contact Mr Michel through his web site, email, or listed phone. I was wondering if you know if the training would happen in 2020, and if so how to sign up ?

    Thank you,

    Dave Rosen

      Dave,

Max Michel will be coming back to the 2020 Oklahoma Section match in June.  Stay tuned for more info.
