  1. I’ve had excellent results with a JP lightweight 18” for the last 2 years. MOA/Sub-MOA and maintains accuracy to 600 despite minimal maintenance and cleaning.
  2. My VR80 is still struggling to cycle the 1200, but when I run 1300 the magpul carbine stock is collapsing under the recoil (very odd feeling have the receiver come into your shoulder under recoil). Is the stock issue just a bad stock/buffer tube that has poor lock up, or is this a semi-auto shotgun phenomenon in general? It’s doing it consistently every few rounds, not a 1 time thing.
  3. +1 for Hayes. Aaron, Ben, Steve, Jay and Daniel do great work!
  4. I have a seekins factory 6.5cm which is outstanding, and i have a factory 16 inch gun from them (not my match gun) which looks to be of great quality - but i haven't zero'd or shot long range with it. Definitely recommend Seekins.
  5. The whole VX6 line went through a refresh in 2017. Improved glass and/or coatings (hence the HD). It does appear they added capped turrets. Same great reticle - just slightly better scope package. The 3-18 VX6s really got some nice feature upgrades in this refresh.
  6. Here is what i ordered on Amazon in mid 2016 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UTMDT2U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0048KG098/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm using the GLS with a QLS attachment with my STI edge. I have tried ELS but feels to flimsy. I'm familiar with the Boss Hangers, but have never messed with one. I'd imagine they work great - because you can always drill an extra hole in kydez if needed.
  7. I just picked one up off a prize table at Fallen Brethren 3 gun. I have hear great things and am excited to give it a try. They are great supporters of our sport - definitely a company worth doing business with.
  8. From experience - don't change up your BCG/buffer weight/recoil spring/ gas block setting without TESTING and maybe resetting your gas block to the lowest reliable setting. I learned this less while 'bolt action' cycling my rifle on the clock in a match
  9. I shoot Fiocchi 55s for hoser (unless I find VMax on sale). Fiocchi 77smk for the 300+ shots. Never had an ammo failure and am getting roughly a 1MOA group on 55s out of a Stretch 16 and JP 18".
  10. Great pick Mike - you'll never need to worry about your barrel being the week link in your system with the proof.
  11. If you practice and have good form and a comp that is tuned to hold you pretty steady, double taps with no intentionally second sight picture inside of 25 is very reasonable.
  12. I find slinging muzzle up and muzzle down to both work fine - it's the damn unstinting motion that knocks my ear pro to the ground that gets me
  13. The ECL is the 24c with a nickel alloy finish - so same functionality
  14. I'm using the Hyperfire 24 3G - same as the 24c with a curved trigger bow
  15. After watching a video of myself shooting vs. some top local shooters on a stage with a lot of off hand, I noticed my target transition time was a huge opportunity - getting off target then getting on the next target and breaking a good shot. Because of this I usually try to include multiple targets in my off hand drills.
  16. If I have to use hold over hash marks at distance I keep the illumination OFF on my Razor HD 2 w/ JM1. Why distract from what you are aiming at or where you need to hold.
  17. Jumping up in budget here, but the Leupold Mark 6 is 2.4 oz heaver than the VX6, but a jump in glass quality and has the best reticle in the class for long range shooting..
  18. Why did Atibal tune their BDC to 62gr 223? Is this for military or people shooting 62gr surplus ammo market - I would think 55 or even 69 or 77 would be a better target for setting a BDC drop.
  19. If you get the JP 15 with a 16" barrel you will never regret it or need to buy another match rifle. Is a 14.5" barrel better in bays, probably not but maybe on the most narrow of margins. Is a 18" barrel better for long range, in the wind yes a little bit. If you buy the 14.5 or the 18 the weaknesses in the opposite discipline will be more noticeable - but again still wouldn't prevent you from being VERY competitive.
  20. Being from central texas myself, good on you for supporting a local business.
  21. I like it has JP springs, I like the profile of the trigger bow - but until you pull one i would said it's pretty impossible to know. Trigger pull weight, description of break and reset length and reset feel description would be nice to know - but i would still want to feel it before dropping close to (but less than) $200.
  22. To a comment above - first thing he should spend money on is a trigger. Tons of good ones in the $100 - 250 range. CMC on the lower end, Geissele, Timney, Hyperfire, AR Gold and others on the upper end. Next is muzzle break, then adjustable gas block, then free float rail. ($400 max combined). Everything after that is personal preference and fit on optics/stocks/etc. and aesthetics.
  23. +1 for the safariland GLS. Easy to fit to your 2011 with supplied spacer. Hasn't fallen out or caused a bad draw in over a year of match use... and they are CHEAP. DRop offset add on a must though
