  1. Hmmm. If the load is 5.0 grains of Power Pistol under a 115 gr. bullet, that is a rather light load. I would expect dirty cases at that pressure more than likely. What you usually look for with primers is cratering around the firing pin strike and flattening of the primer near the edges. I see none of that in your photos. Please note, that these pressure signs are not to be relied on - harder primers will show pressure signs later, and by the time you see flattening, you are already getting up there pressure wise.
  2. With Berry's 124 gr. HBFP my standard range load is 4.7 to 5.0 grains. If you want, you can probably reduce that some, maybe to 4.4 or so and still get good function.
  3. If you are talking defense loads, you are wanting decent velocity. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, the powder that produces the best velocity in a longer barrel will usually also produce the best velocity in a shorter barrel. Of the powders mentioned, I would try Unique, N340, and AA#5. Blue Dot and Longshot would give the best velocity of all listed, but at a cost of a lot of flash and muzzle blast.
  4. Thanks for the report. Coincidentally, I tried some loads with 2.9 to 3.1 grains of Bullseye under a Bayou 147 grain a couple of weeks ago. I didn't chrono them, but got good accuracy and super soft shooting from them. It reminds me of the old .38 Special load with 2.7 grains of Bullseye and a 148 grain wadcutter. Very happy with this load.
  5. I have been shooting this exact load - 124 gr. Precision Delta with 4.9 grains of WSF at 1.145 for a while now and it is very accurate for me. The only difference is that I haven't gotten quite as much velocity from my G19 as you did. I am averaging about 1030 fps, but it feels and shoots great.
