  1. Now this worked great. I have a new racker on the way that I can hopefully fit so it is a bit snugger. Know I'll just have to work on getting that loctite out of the dovetail. Hoping some alcohol wipes and toothpicks will get the job done.
  2. I measured the best I could and they definitely seem correct. One hole does seem not as deep as the other though.
  3. I’ll have to try that because the grease didn’t end up working out. I assume it gets put on the ball bearings, correct?
  4. My new 9 major gun came with a ball and detent zig racker. It seems to come loose while shooting it. Is there an easy way to increase the hold it has?
  5. I’ve been using these things for loaded and collected brass. Easily holds 300 pieces of 9/38. They go from hundo to bag to match. https://www.doublealpha.biz/ced-ammo-brass-pouch
  6. Thanks. I went looking for them but came up empty. I’m probably just using the wrong search terms.
  7. Thanks all. I’ve recently found the nanook line and they look like great clones at a reasonable price.
  8. I'm new to this division too but I believe it's because they are rated for higher pressures.
  9. I can’t imagine the double sided one being that noticeably more stable than the singles. I’ve only run single sided Sliderides so far. Are the micro rds really that shaky or is there something else?
  10. I shot my first match using 38. Even after picking up marked brass after every stage and the match as a whole, I definitely left with less than I showed up with. With that being said, 38 seemed really easy to shoot. I really want to get ahold of a 9 major to compare it to.
  11. Jesus, really? The only issue I've had with the DPP is the dot going out unexpectedly. It always helps zero and never broke all out. I just had to get the power button again.
  12. Like what? I'm new to this division and have only run DPPs on CO guns in the past. I wouldn't mind knowing what to keep a look out for.
  13. And I love And I love all those features, but I want to know why competitors/manufactures seem to be choosing a MRDS vs the big ass Cmore. Specifically, is there a competitive advantage in doing so. Also, what about a 90°mounted Cmore vs the MRDS. Does that change anything? I have a feeling the answer is going to be "personal prefence", while although true, that doesn't seem quite right. The common custom guys do not list the Cmore as an option on their build page or in their photo galleries. So why? I'm hoping to find out before buying something I might not need. 14. I've noticed a bunch of the newer pistols (2017+) using a MRDS vs the older Cmore SR. Is there a significant reason for this? Weight, overall size, the way it looks maybe? I can't imagine it being reliability because I've read/seen that both of them break down regardless if they're slide mounted or not. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-P907A using Tapatalk
  15. My dot went belly up on me again. Mounted the 2nd one and off the bad one went to warranty repair. Repair time went from 24 days (last time I sent it in) to 42 days according to the email I got. Oh well. Decided to just buy a used open gun with a Cmore railway (?) on it. Let's see how that works out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-P907A using Tapatalk
  16. I believe so, yes. Right now, if I understand what you described, is that you're starting "see" faster and more i.e. what's in your peripheral vision. You may not be able to process or react to that input quickly now, but it will happen with enough training. Learning to call your shots will be one of the biggest improvements in your sport shooting in my opinion. What you're describing is the beginning of that skill. As I said above, once you're able to process quickly enough what you saw and are able to make shots up based on that with no conscious effort, you will be pleasantly surprised at how much better your stage times will be compared to the guys looking at the holes or listening for the ding.
  17. I'm going to check out Central Carolina. Thank you! HA! I wish. Family is moving and I have the choice of divorce or follow. I am going to miss the abundance of shooting available in N.E. FL though.
  18. I would chalk it up as you getting gooder. The more you do it obviously, the gooder you will get. I always like that feeling. The most used analogy I've heard to explain what is happening to you is when comparing it learning to drive a car on busy highway. When you get on that 2-3 lane road and everything is just flying by you, most people have a hard time paying attention to everything and being able to process all the input occuring. After a while though, and doing it regularly, it becomes more normal. You start reaching into the back seat for whatever, messing with whatever on the dash, while changing lanes or merging into 75 mph traffic. You get the point. After a while, what was fast and hard to track becomes normal speed. Keep it up and watch your match performance progress.
  19. So I'm moving to this area and found some matches that I can go to but am having a really hard time finding a range that has private bays so I can practice. Anybody know of a place that lets you setup props\target stands\etc and draw from the holster while running around?
  20. This was the biggest part that I struggled with, the picking up brass at the high point of the afternoon after a morning of running around in the heat and humidity. And I don't want to be one of those guys trying to pick up brass while others reset. I hate that crap. But what you mentioned to have another barrel fitted seems to give me the best of both worlds and allow me a chance to have time behind both calibers.
  21. That's the thing though, I don't know what I really want in terms of hardware. What I do know is that I will shoot lots of locals with it and want something that is reliable and trouble free with only regular maintenance needed. Sure, a SVI or similar would be awesome to have but I'm honest enough with myself that dumping another 2k to get a new middle tier or used top tier open gun would be a waste when I can get one in decent condition, known to run and has been taken care of, and comes with mags, and in this case of 38SC, brass, for the same price. My question really was soley on the caliber choice of said gun. If someone was starting out completely new to open, would 38SC be a good path to take or had someone's experience taught them that marking and picking up brass just isn't worth it, even with the benefits 38SC has over 9. Since posting the original question, I did more searching here and found the answer, for me at least, yes, it's worth it. If a year down the line this division continues to be as fun as it is when I started, then I can invest in a much better gun and have the experience (hopefully) to know exactly what I want. But right now I want 30 rds to start, major scoring, and a big red dot while I run around the field course. :-)
  22. Last I heard, waitlists are no more and sponsorship isn't necessary either. Here's their website: https://sjcfop113.com/
