  1. Sorry, that post should have read Power Pistol. This is a fairly new powder from Alliant. Alliant charts only list jacketed bullets. I'm shooting 200gr. Lead SWC. Thanks
  2. I had problems with sizeing on my 550 but then re-adjusted the die so that it just hits the shell plate and the problen went away. I still have found that some cases are comming through long. These cases don't fully seat in the gage but when reversed in the gage silde in fine. Haven't seen a case trimmer for 45 ACP.
  3. Has anybody found a good starting load for pistol powder using a 200gr LSWC bullet for 45 ACP. . Found lots of jacketed info. Any info would be a help. Just got a few pounds of BE-86. The loads I have seen and tried are very hot. Velocity for 200 gr. LSWC 6.7 gr. shown at 1032 fps. I have loaded this powder down to 5.0gr and it is much more manageable. Haven't chronographed any yet.
  4. I was thinking about grip tape for my officers model colt to apply to the front of the grip. Most of the tape was skateboard tape (Brownells) or lazer cut tape available for rifle magazines. Both seemed expensive. Then it occured to me to try Velcro hook side tape. I had been using the loop side to treat my holsters to minimize wear on my pistol. You can cut to fit and it's already hanging around. It's a little rough at first, but shoots in nicely. Give it a try..
