Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I really like the extra height of my ADM Recon-H mount. It's similar to the LaRue 1.93". Gives more of a head up position.
  2. I've been very happy with my BCM stainless 11.5. Running it with an Allen Engineering suppressor and it'll shoot sub MOA at 200 yds (longest range I have access to.)
  3. If there's not much of a gap to take up, would it be OK to slip a thin piece of material in there instead of wrapping nearly the whole barrel extension, or would being slightly off-center cause issues? I'm thinking in terms of a full diameter wrap with .001 being too much, but still wanting to take up some room.
  4. Anybody know if there are other options beyond ADM & LaRue?
  5. Would it be possible to cut & thread a 24" barrel down to 20-22" or would a 26 or 28 work better for that?
  6. Brownells is showing the M2 extractor spring as being discontinued (#20 on the bolt schematic at Brownells). Will the extractor spring for the M4/SBE2,etc work? Brownells part #is 301-000-490MB. I've run a couple hundred rounds through mine so far. The only malfunction was the first round fired, a Rio reduced recoil slug that didn't eject fully. Federal Truball Low Recoil shot right on at 50yds. Even the feared WM bulk pack Winchester ran fine. I opened up the loading port & plugged in the MOA internals. Waiting for a Carbon Arms mag tube. The MOA disconnector was holding onto the hammer & not releasing it to the sear. A quick call to Tom, an email & a little lovin with a file & all is well.
  7. I pulled my new 3000 apart to clean it out & lube it up & the o-ring from the firing pin retaining pin came out in pieces. I have an AR extractor o-ring that looks like it'll fit, but does it go on the shaft of the pin, or in the groove on the head of the pin? Thanks.
  8. I'm interested in more info on the follower mod as well. I have a couple of the TTI basepads and the followers feel like they hang up after the 19th round (9mm mags) but if I push and fiddle a little they pop free and I can load the rest of the rounds. If there's a known good way to do this it would be helpful to know.
  9. I have an old 870 that I'd like to start getting into 3 gun with. I've heard that you can modify the action so that the gun unlocks when the trigger is pressed ala the Win Model 12 or 1300. I tend to apply some rearward pressure on the forend when shooting & this requires me to at least relax that pressure before I can cycle the action. We can all see how this would slow the process. I definitely don't want to do anything that would cause the gun to be unsafe. Thanks.
