  1. I bought a Czechmate a few years ago as a backup to my 2011 (Brazos) open gun. That gun is currently getting some work done after 8 years of mostly trouble free use. The Czechmate had been collecting dust but is now seeing use until my 2011 is repaired. The CZ runs well but it is a completely different gun. The grip size and angle is different, the recoil and dot movement is different, mag capacity is fewer and the slide racker is on the wrong (right) side due to clearance issues with the safety. But, the CZ was much less expensive than my primary open gun. If I had started with the CZ maybe I would have stayed with it and never gone to a 2011. As a backup gun it works well for me but I am so used to the 2011 design that I will switch back once the 2011 is back from the shop.
  2. I just placed an order yesterday for 9mm124 grain HP and received an email today that the order has shipped. No problems with the website. Now getting the 125 grain Zero's that I've had on order since last March is another story...
  3. I got my walking papers during a stage where you had to hold a phone book in both hands while sprinting to a table about 10 yards away. I hit the brakes and put the book on the table but my gun decided to continue cartwheeling down the stage. Yes it was scary, embarrassing and a learning experience. I finished the day scoring for my squad and never looked back. You learn and you move on, but don't give up!
  4. I do a top-end dis-assembly and cleaning after every match especially with the dust we get here in Reno. I do a full tear-down and cleaning about once per year.
  5. I will be staying at your range for the match and would really look forward to starting the day with a breakfast burrito!
  6. I have two Buckmarks and both have been upgraded with many Tac-Sol parts. My first gun was new but when I decided to get another knowing it was going to go through a conversion I found a used one pretty cheap. One of the Buckmarks has the Tac-Sol 7.25" bbl, TS integral scope rail, TS fibre-optic front sight and TS colored grips. The other has the TS 5.5" bbl with comp, TS integral scope rail, TS colored grips and fastfire dot (although I might switch to a C-more). They are both set up with the specific parts I wanted and I have been very happy with the results.
  7. i have a buckmark set up like the number three option but with a fastfire dot. I don't really notice much difference in muzzle flip between this set up and another buckmark I have with the longer 7+ inch Tac Sol barrel. Both are really fun to shoot.
  8. Yup, Dodge Sprinter van. $410
  9. Thanks for all the help! I just ordered a Giraud trimmer to add to my loading equipment. My plan is to tumble/size/deprime on a single stage press and then move to my 550 to prime/powder/seat/crimp. I'll go ahead and tumble the brass again to remove the lube. It sounds like adding a universal deprimer on the 550 toolhead should take care of the plugged pockets and flash hole. I'll give that a try!
  10. I have been loading pistol ammo for a few years and I am about to start loading 223 ammo. I have a question about the "second" trip through the tumbler. It seems a lot of folks here run their brass back through the tumbler after the initial tumble/size/deprime step. Given that this apparently clogs the primer hole/pocket in some percentage of the brass with tumbling media (which then requires additional cleaning) is there an alternative to the second tumble? Can the brass be washed in soap and water or gasoline or something else to remove the case lube? Does the tumbling media get degraded by the case lube and further shorten its lifespan? Thanks!
