Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Guess I need to renege on what I said and go with Nealio on this one. I just checked my Witness P-S and there's no visable movement between the slide and barrel fit.
  2. This only works for people with a Dropbox account. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Click on continue without signup, then go up to download and do download direct. Worked for me. 3djedi, that looks about normal for all my production pistols. I do have a Taurus with a custom fitted barrel bushing that has zero play, but the others all have at least a little play. I don't notice any decrease in accuracy, but I'm not all that good of a shot either.
  3. I've already cut two coils from the hammer spring and just wanted to know if I gained anything or not. The trigger pull is fairly smooth, but just too strong in DA for me to measure. I'm really wanting to get the SA down to 3 1/2 to 4# and trying to figure out how many more coils I can remove and still have reliable ignition. Any recommendations on how light I can go before I start having problems?? I haven't ordered any new hammer springs so I think that's my next step in case I go to far.
  4. Does anyone know the factory pull weights on this pistol? I didn't have a trigger gauge when I started working on mine. I cut 2 coils from the hammer spring and ended up with an average 5# single action pull, but the double goes of the scale. I'd just like to know if I gained anything or not on the single action pull. I know it feels a lot better and I mostly shoot single action anyway.
  5. Well I came here to learn. I had no idea any of them would do that. I have half a dozen semi-autos and none of them will do that. I know my Witness P-S doesn't for sure. It'll be interesting to see what Sclagg finds out.
  6. I'm fairly new to semi-auto pistols, but I don't know of any that will return to battery just by inserting a mag. Are you thumbing down the slide release/stop after you insert the mag? Hope I'm not way off track here.
  7. I had an old Fobus KMSP laying around that fits fairly well. The trigger guard area isn't shaped quite right but it retains the pistol fairly well. As far as the trigger goes, I cut two coils from the hammer spring and made the pull much nicer. It's still a smidge over 5#, but it probably needs it for proper ignition.
  8. I think I got it all figured out now. I took it apart except for the trigger assy. My biggest problem was getting the hammer and spring assy back together. It should be easier next time. Thanks for the help, Jerry
  9. Yes, that does help. I kinda figured that was it, but didn't want to drive out that back roll pin and have parts flying all over the place. I've only put about 75 rounds thru the pistol, so I'll probably wait till I get a few hundred thru it before I decide if I really want to replace the spring or not. I am surprised that someone hasn't posted a youtube vid on how to do it. I do like this pistol. When I hold it right it's dead nutz accurate. I've got a lot of practice to do yet. Thanks a bunch, Jerry
  10. I'm new to this forum and hope this is where to post this. I recently bought the above mentioned pistol in 9mm. I would like to do a complete teardown and replace the hammer spring with a lighter one. Problem is, the only disassembly videos I can find don't really apply to this model. It appears the hammer and spring are different from the other Witness models. Anybody have any ideas where I can find disassembly instructions? Thanks, Jerry
