  1. I really liked Acme , but couldn't find any deal on shipping and none of the discounts codes worked .Ended up getting 3k of Blue bullets for now
  2. I paid just under $1000 for mine as well and took a while to get it. My dealer has one. http://www.tricountysport.com
  3. I did buy an XTrim. , but in my lovely state I have to wait till it goes on my permit. My dealer was kind enough to take the slide and barrel in mean time. :)
  4. That's pretty much what I did, but still shoots too low ,I have compensate for it when aiming .Not a huge deal .I pretty much put FO dot on top of rear sight when aiming. But don't wanna develop bad habits .GP sight in EU shows 3 different FO sights that are different heights , but nothing like that at eagle import
  5. Anybody knows what adjustable rear sight would fit XTrim ? Mine shoots about 4-5" too low and swapping rear sight for adjustable is easier then trying to find right front sight I guess. I know I can send it in and have it fixed under warrantee but , I'd rather keep it simple.
  6. So , I've ordered sample pack of Acme and BLue Bullets . I'll report back. Plated work great , but would love to get coated ones working without leading the barrel. Interesting that precision bullets worked fine in CZ barrel but lead my Grand power barrel .I still use precision bullets for my 40 CZ TS
  7. 147 here 135 my cast (which really drop about at about 142)
  8. I've been using precision bullets for CZ and they worked fine .$210 for 3k shipped seemed good deal .However I'm getting significant leading from them in my X-calibur .Extreme bullets solved that problem but they about $50 more on 3k package .AAAND since I'm cheap bastard, wanna find "inexpensive" coated bullet replacement. How are Acme bullets ?
  9. I use stock tube and from there I "pour" them into spare hornady tubes I have.Just align feeding end of the tube with "dumping" end of hornady tube and they go right in
  10. You rarely have to activate the slide release. Inserting new mag sends the slide home almost every time. Just got to learn "hit" it when inserting mag.
  11. I'm at the point where , I'm considering ditching my CZ75 TS in 40 that I use for limited , for X-calibur in production and keeping X-trim for IDPA. I'm definitely biased but , those things make me better shooter.
  12. This is email I received this morning. Turns out they are OK , rather shot the whole match , but they get A+for effort. "Good Morning, We are extremely sorry that you were not able to complete the match on Saturday afternoon. If you would reply with your mailing address, we will send a $50 refund. Although the split day format worked well for the 2013 and 2014 match, in the future, we will only use a full day format. We will not be able to offer as many slots and it will not be as convenient for some shooters, but we want to ensure that everyone will be able to finish. Thank you," Ken Ortbach
  13. Frirst off , it looked like a great match. Then everything turn d to crap. Little rain and organizations were all screwed up. We were scheduled to start at 1 pm , didn't start till 3:30 and nobody bothered to tell us that range closes at 8:00. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if it took morning squads to finish 7 hours in ligh drizzle , that there's no snowball chance in hell that we would finish in 4. So I got soak , but sucked it up and went on, until somebody came at 7:30 telling us it'll be over soon and we can come back tomorrow to finish. Being pissed doesn't even describe it . 3 hour ride, crappy luch, crap for door prize ,cheap tshirt and soaked wet along with my gear is all I have to show for for 9 hours in rain , that and DNF. . I understand that they can't control the weather , but between 3 match directors , you'd think they would figure something out , or at least let us know that there's big chance we won't finish. They didn't kicked out morning squads for taking too long . After pretty angry email to match director , I didn't even get "sorry we screwed up" .Management sure dropped the ball on this one . For over 3 hours we stood there waiting , there were empty stages , because they waited until everybody is done from morning crew. Not something worth $100 and 3 hour drive. Easton Fish & Game , you got 4 less shooters to worry about next year or Ever. On the plus note , stages looked good and staff work their butts off . Too bad they didn't have so one with commen sense running the show.
  14. Show up on time -check Bring rain gear-check Wait like an idiot for almost 3 hours because little rain , while stages sit empty -check Have somebody come tell you at 7:30 pm that all the shooting stops at 8:00pm , while you still have 4 stages to go -check Waste all day , get soaked and not to get to finish the match , due to poor management -check Don't even get ,sorry I f..d up from match director -check Pretty much expensive shirt and lunch Thanks for nothing . You can count on us NOT coming back ever
  15. My understanding is that mk12 is newer , better , more expensive frame.
  16. If those are unsupported, standing groups - they're not too bad. If they are supported, benched groups, then you should check the ammo you're using - see if you can find ammo that will be more accurate. In addition to ammo, it could also be the trigger and/or the sights you're currently using. I know how to shoot pretty well, but I've had guns/sights/trigger/ ammo that would not shoot very well - when I changed to more accurate ammo/gun/sights/trigger, I could shoot much better than the equipment. Once you've determined that your gun/ammo combo can shoot 2-3" groups at 50 feet (from a bench), the I'd use the Dot Torture Drill as live fire practice, augmented by all the great advice above. don't wanna sound like a dick , but if I really try I'd do 3" group at 50' no problem with my Walther PPQ, probably better with competition gun.So I wouldn't say 6" groups are OK , something is off, considering he's "target shooting " not "action shooting"
  17. shooting at 15 yards it's just about 3" low ,tried my reloads and factory ammo . Gonna wait till I have original frame , which is gonna take few weeks in communist state of NY. I'm lucky my LGS is stand up guy and gave me barrel and slide to use
  18. XTrim showed up today , but it'll be few weeks before I can actually pick it up . I was able to bring slide and barrel with me at least. Fits on the Xcal frame without problem , but shoots about 3" low .Rear sight is fixed and since Front sight is FO , there's not a whole lot I can do :) Any ideas?
  19. I might be biased since I'm originally from Slovakia :) But I like that it has interchangeable back satraps , unlike CZ , although CZ has great ergonomics , this just makes it little more customizable. There's something about the way this gun manages recoil. Not sure if it's rotating barrel lock up ,or fairly high bore axes , but considering that XCal is significantly lighter then Shadow target , still feels like "heavy" gun when shooting it. Also in my opinion , trigger is superior to custom CZ . Double action is just butter smooth and single action is crisp and supries ex me every time. CZ is still great gun , Xcal has just little edge , at least in my opinion.
  20. Well , have XTrim on the way for that. Still not convinced it's. It IDPA legal. Where's that 4.25" rule? Coned barrel is debatable.
  21. NYC suck. Unlike most other states , NY is complicated .Depending on county you live in , if you finally do get a pistol permit and are "allowed" to have one , your permit expires as soon as you hit city limits. It's pretty much impossible for regular person to get pistol permit in city. Soooo, I repeat NYC Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks even more then just NY state
