  1. Howdy all. I have a stainless SA 1911a1 I am building up right now and I am a little confused with Dawsons new web sight. The old one used to have a tab for Springfield sights. This one seems to not have it. That or I am retarded which may be the case depending on who you ask. Anyways I want to install adjustable rear sights. The pistol currently has novak 3 dot sights. I am assuming I need novak cut sights but I wanted to check here first. The gun was built in 2003 per the stamp on the frame. Thanks for the help guys and gals.....
  2. 180x100 from Dawson on my wifes RO. Had to do some small filing but it took less then 20 minutes to get a dang near perfect fit. Plus dawson sights come with a little tool that while cheap is a nice addition.
  3. I found my 9mm loads to gain about 50 fps when I switched from plated to coated bullets from Missouri bullet company. I was pleasantly surprised.
  4. I bought a rock climbing chalk bag and keep it with me. I use it while on deck. Heads up though try not to get much on your support hand as the chalk will get on your mags and cause them to hang up resulting in you mag being thrown across the stage...........
  5. My wifes SA RO 9mm has been a great pistol, we added grips, a different front sight, mag well, full length guide rod and a bunch of tripps magazines and she has blasting happy ever since.

    best 1911 ?

Howdy folks. I am looking for the absolute best 1911 airsoft pistol. Must be blow back and I would prefer it to be co2. I dont mind spending a few pennys to get one. I would also really like for it to be very close in size and dimensions. Am I asking to much?
  7. Thank you for posting that. I have wanted a copy myself for a while.
  8. Double alpha for the win sir. I have yet to use any double alpha products that didnt perform up to par.
  9. I have a RO in 9mm, and a loaded in 45 and I love them both. Springfields are by far the most popular 1911's at our range. My only complaint is the sights, while changing out front sights is not that expensive I wish the RO came with Fiber Optic sights from the factory.
  10. I was having several issues with mags on my wife SFRO in 9mm. I switched to Tripps Research mags and all of our problems went away. I honestly can not say enough good things about those mags. only down fall is the price but as always you get what you pay for.
  11. CZ doesn't fit my hand. Think XL-XXL gloves. I love the accu-shadows but its the same issue, no fit. The TS is going to have a larger frame than the 75's and the sp-01's. I find them comparable to tanfos. Lots of people do reductions on the TS frame, granted its to get rid of the factory checkering but nonetheless decreasing the size of the gripping area. Maybe you already knew all that... No I didnt know that. thank you for the input sir. I appreciate it. Wish we had a cz or a tanfo dealer here in AK.......... everything good has to be ordered.
  12. thanks for all the advice folks. I still have a lot of thinking to do.......

  14. Howdy folks, I need a little advise here. I want to get a limited division rig. I am torn between the Limted or an STI. ( a lim cat would be awesome the wife said I have to keep my kidneys) Can anyone point out any major advantages that one has over the other? I really like Tanfo's as my huge mitts fit them really really well. but the STI fits very nice also. Honestly the tanfo is a bit cheaper. ( not by much once you get done upgrading it) and the mag bodys are cheaper. But the STI has a huge aftermarket. I cant decide and Its driving me nuts. I am going to borrow a buddys sti and run it next match to get a good feel for it. I am going to do the same with a limited as well. I am just looking for any personal knowledge or advise on the subject. Thanks guys and gals.
  15. I think you will be happy with the match. My wifes has been a real trooper. pushing 40k through it and only issue was recoil spring. we changed the sights right off the bat as well also.
  16. Anyone have data for these 124's using unique powder? I know its not the best but powder selection here in AK is limited. I have a bunch of ramshot S. but i would rather keep that for big matches as there is no telling when i can resupply.
  17. Sweet. thanks for all the info Guys. It looks like Jacksonville or Tampa would be a good choice. I don't mind driving a hour or two to shoot.
  18. I have a few questions about Florida myself. Where is the best place to be for USPSA? I want to move to the warmth and sunshine. Wife and I want to be able to shoot USPSA and IDPA at least 2 times a month but would prefer more. We want to be able to be withing a hour drive of the ranges. Any recommendations for places to look into? currently looking in to the Jacksonville area.

    9 pro trigger

Thats the thing, from all the videos I have seen, the over travel with the apex kit is pretty noticeable. This is a production class competition gun only. I think I may just have to get used to it the way it is. I was running some drills today with about 25-29 splits. (with 95% alphas) which considering its a new weapon and a new to me platform I am pretty happy with. I think after a few thousands rounds through her in the next month or so I should be able to get the time down to something I am happier with. This may be the pistols that moves me over to the dark side of Tupperware guns........
  20. OK so I have a few questions. I just purchased a 9 pro 5 inch and while i like it a lot I would like to clean up the trigger a bit. I looked at the apex kit but from what I understand it will reduce sear set distance and lighten the pull a but it increases the amount of over travel. This seems like a 50/50 split to me. The reset is nice but if it adds over travel whats the point? BTW I am shooting in production and have no plans or desire to switch divisions. I would like to drop the pull down a bit to somewhere around 3.5 pounds if I can. Does anyone have any suggestions? BTW I have about 300 rounds through it right now. (and several hours of dry fire) does it lighten up with more rounds like my tanfoglio did?
  21. So what about up down targets. Say for example two targets on the same sticks, do you move the weapon up and down or do you bend your back slightly as to keep your shoulders and weapon locked into the same place? Seems to me in dry fire that I am faster to bend my back slightly.
