  1. How many cartridges do you make in an average loading session? 1000 How many cartridges do you make in an average week? 500 Which press do you use? Dillon 650XL, with RF100 How many cartridges can you load in an hour? 800 How long is your average loading session? 90 minutes Knowing what you know now if your reloading equipment was lost or stolen what would you buy today? Dillon 650XL and RF100 I love the 650XL. It's a solid design for long runs of 45ACP, 9mm and 308WIN with easy setup, caliber changes, and cleanup. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Congrats! Love my 650, and work it through ~1000 rounds a week. Stay tuned to this forum. The guys here had answers for all my early ills. As for your bench, make sure it is absolutely rock solid, then double it up from there. I had minor issues and some less than perfect loads for mine on a bench I was super happy with. It didn't move at all. Bolted it to the wall, and bingo. 99.99% consistent loads. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I've loaded a few thousand Berry's and they are OK. The Xtreme bullets are much more uniform (weight) and the finish is brighter. Since they are also ~30% cheaper, I'm stocking up on Xtreme for pistol. Now I just need a cheap source for ~10k rounds of quality 308. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. +1 to A-shot. Start with 45ACP. In addition to the straight sided case, just the fact that it's physically larger makes it simple to deal with. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Love TG for 9mm. It's all I run anymore, and it seems like nobody else is buying. Pretty easy to find. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I use the Dillon to just remove the belling. It's very consistent and I don't have to worry about it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. I'd bet this is the dealers problem. Not Dillons. I just went to a Scheels store in salt lake last week and they had dozens of Dillon presses in stock. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I have the pictured case feeder and have only experienced this once. It was 9mm brass and cleared itself when there were about five rounds piled in there. I wonder why the differences in experiences using this feeder? Very odd. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Recommendation for my fellow ziplock baggie lubers out there. Spray the lube into the bag, then add the brass (instead of the other way around). Seal it up and tumble/message the bag gently. Open it up and let the alcohol dry out and you are set to go with the bonus that you didn't spray lanolin straight into 20-30% of your cases.
  10. I'm a lefty and shoot right handed even with an ambidextrous pistol. I am also left eye dominant, but cross dominant shooting works fine for me. Oddly, I shoot rifle left handed. I guess it's what works for the shooter. Most of us spent enough time playing with cap guns, airsoft, bb pistols, whatever that we have worked out the basic mechanics of what is comfortable. I'd suggest expanding upon what is comfortable for the new shooter before changing things up. Just 2 cents...can't afford more than that.
  11. Greetings from Oklahoma! I'm the proud owner of a shiny new Dillon XL650, and wanted to introduce and warn all the experienced reloaders that I intend to pester them for knowledge. Thanks in advance for the warm welcome. Niland
