  1. Just ordered one. According to the site they work in all gens except a left hand gen 4.
  2. Here's my comparison of the two; After every 100 rounds with the Dillon RF100 Remove tube from RF100, position over the primer feed tube on your press, pull pin and drop primers, return tube to rf100, fill top of machine with primers, press button, go back to loading *Nothing to do in between and once the process is started you will always have a full tube ready. Vibra prime Before you do any loading; Fill the tray with primers, attach to a fill tube, run the vibra prime while you hold it at the right angle, when tube is full place the tube aside (repeat as neccesary) After every 100 rounds with Vibra Prime pickup a filled primer tube, position over the primer feed tube on your press, pull pin and drop primers, place empty tube aside, go back to loading *after you've used your 'inventory' of full tubes you have to go back to loading them up. RF100 isn't cheap but I love mine.
  3. Do you all use gunbot.net? Works wonders for me.
  4. I've been using the 3M Peltor Tactictal Pro headset. They are comfortable, offer great protection and the electronics in them are pretty good. I decided to treat my self to the Hear Pro Amp37 in-ear molded plugs with digital electronics. I've only had them about a week but I love them. Have not had the chance to test them indoors with a whole bunch of shooters but that test will come soon.
  5. thanks. Just got some 4 pounders of N340
  6. seems tight, any suggestions on checking it on a 550? My 550 was doing the same thing yours is doing. I realized that the cases were moving around. I tightened the shell plate to the point where it was tight but not tight enough to bind. That seemed to hold the cases more uniformly and the issue was resolved.
  7. Make sure the shell plate is adjusted properly. I'm guessing yours is too loose.
  8. 165 gr Berry's plated FP over 4.5 grains of Unique. OAL 1.1250 Avg 852 fps Gun = Glock 35
  9. As a seller I've sent items to people before on their word that the check is in the mail. I'm sure some of you gasped at that thought but what's the difference? Either the buyer or seller has to take a leap of faith. Both are taking equal chances.
  10. If I were a seller and you posted 'PM Sent' and proceeded to ask questions as opposed to making payment arrangements I wouldn't be happy. Ask all the questions you want but don't give the appearance that you're buying the item if you still haven't decided.
  11. How about N340? I know it's a slower burning powder but I'm using it on my medium/light .40 loads with some success.
  12. I just did a Dawson sight set on a 1911 last night. I had to start the front sight with a punch. Then I was able to use the sight pusher to finish it up.
  13. I've been using a 550. My 650 arrived one week ago. My original plan was to use the 650 for my main caliber and use the 550 for the 3 others that I load occasionally. However, I think that plan has changed. The 650 is so much better IMHO. Faster, better primer feed system, safer etc. So for now I'm on to an new Plan A; I am going to sell my 550 and get conversion setups for the other calibers. I think that would easily leave money in my pocket. Plan b = another 650. ETA My short answer to your question. Yes! Upgrade.
  14. http://www.amazon.com/3M-SV-Tactical-Hearing-Protector/dp/B0006968YM 3m Tactical Pro - I love mine. They are a little bulky but I find them comfortable and I don't have to double up anymore.
  15. Just did some exercises yesterday with my coach. He had me watch the brass as it was ejected and then of course the front sight. Had me describe what the sight was doing and where it ended up. As he explained to me if you can't see the sights you can't call the shot.
  16. My 650 arrived on Thursday. The powder check and spare parts had arrived the day before.
  17. Question; I've been loading .40 for my Glock 35 on my dillon 550 and have had no issues. Heck, I don't even use a case gauge except for a few rounds during setup. I simple gauged a few rounds when I set up the dies and all was good. But, I'm getting a 650 and I want to set things up correctly. - And after reading this thread now I'm worried - Particularly because I'm shooting more now and I'm buying once fired brass from various sources. Do you think I should replace the dillon decap/sizing die in station one with lee u die? It's short money.
  18. Looks great. I just ordered a 650 yesterday. I hope mine comes as quickly. Trying to figure out if I should mount it alongside the 550 or if I should swap them out when necessary. I will probably only use the 550 a few times a year. btw I didn't order the case feeder but I will do that in a week or two. Wanted to force myself to go at a reasonable pace.
  19. If you're using electronic calipers I would have a look at those too.
  20. FWIW I was getting similar brass shavings recently with my .40 reloads and didn't quite know why. I saw this thread and reduced the bell in my case. Problem solved!!
