  1. Longshot is good for full power loads, but I use Power Pistol at .2 grains under maximum with 200 gr Precision Delta bullets in bowling pin competitions. Nice shooting, not quite as punishing a recoil like Longshot and a few others. I have also used Unique, AA#7, and CFE Pistol, but just to try different powders. I am happy with Power Pistol. My gun is the Glock G40.
  2. i just bought one (Hawk 5.0) and an extra 140 mag, and it shoots everything from minimum loads to just a shade over maximum loads (4.6-5.3 CFE behind Zero 125 jhp) with no failures at any level, at least after the first mag. I had two failures to go into battery, but that mag was loaded with shorter OAL 1.09” 4.6 (light) for my G43. Everything else was 1.12” oal after that. I have since put 500 rounds through it without issue. I will also put an adjustable rear sight on it. Sure, I wanted an Edge, but $1499 reeled me in. I’m also happy that STI lowered the prices and improved out of the box reliability on their mags. Both were factors in my decision. I sold two 10-15 year old Kimbers to make it all happen.
  3. I won't be flying commercial airlines again with my camera gear or firearms. If it doesn't fit in my airplane, I drive the Yukon XL.
  4. I took a G34 MOS, added a set of Dawson co-witness Fr/Rear fiber optic sights, a Leupold Delta Point Pro red dot optic, McNally (McGlock) adjustable trigger, competition springs, ZEV 2.5# connector, polished all trigger contacts, Carver magwell, Taran Tactical mag extensions for 23 rounds per mag, then added a Lone Wolf threaded barrel with Muzzle Brake/compensator, and a Jager steel guide rod with 11# and 13# springs, depending on variables. Also, a BladeTech holster modified to allow for the taller sights and compensator. I can always quickly bring it back to any level of use, unlimited, open, production, etc. because all the stock items are in a convenient package that stays in my tool box. I am starting to like it. ;-)
  5. I got my trigger from McNally (McGlock), and it really smooths out and shortens the trigger travel. Huge improvement! A Ghost connector just might round out the mods.
  6. I loaded a Magnum Research .45 - 70 10" barrel revolver with 2015BR for a specific fps, then loaded the same fps with 4198. The recoil was stinging and substantial with the slower 2015. The 4198 was quite tame in comparison, very accurate, and didn't throw a fireball out the barrel like the 2015 did. I'll go with the faster powder if I want less recoil for a given velocity. The result was the same with both 300 and 400 grain bullets.
  7. All is good here! Got the bases, they are perfect! And, yes, worth the wait! Scott, at TTI, Thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty! And to get back to stories about the 43, it shoots as tight a group at 7 yards as my larger pistols. Very impressive. As accurate as my Kimber Solo, but much more reliable and easier to shoot and clean. I sold my Kimber Solo and my Kahr PM9 now that I have this gun. Next project, smoothing out the trigger and getting rid of the excess back travel. McGlock.com or TTI should be able to help me with that.
  8. Taran Tactical: I am also waiting on the TTI black bases. Order # 288837015 I also have a Kahr PM 9 going on the market with the arrival of the 43. While the trigger is very smooth on the Kahr, it is also very long. It is also easier to rack the slide on the Glock. The grip is significantly higher on the Glock which helps reduce muzzle rise. I shot the G43 at a GSSF Match this past weekend, and while I didn't do that well with it, I did about the same as with my G27. It shoots a nice tight group even with a hard trigger. I will work on that soon.
  9. The 3M product you are thinking of is their spray mount adhesive. It is available where you find framing and other photo related products, or on Amazon. It might help, but the Shooters Connection stickers really haven't had any issues sticking on high humidity days, or even on slightly rainy days.
  10. Yesterday, we ended up using my Shooters Connection pasters to hold the club's Alcos in place! :-) Nothing better that we have used at our range than Shooters Connection pasters. The other brand pasters were just jumping off the target from the later shots.
  11. I have 12 TTI bases, and they all work perfectly, .223, 9, .40, and .45! I have given 5 as gifts, and the recipients are thrilled to have them. Have yet to get a phone call answered or returned, or an email answered, but nice to know they are here to deal with the customers. I just had to find the right venue.
  12. I had an issue with a JM Pro, took photos, emailed QC and they sent for the barrel, replaced with apologies, and all is great. It was a slight misalignment in the barrel where it meets the chamber. It is an inexpensive gun, but they seem more than willing to make it right. Only have a few hundred through it so far, but all without a single issue.
  13. Taran Tactical, Thanks for the really great pricing and available inventory on Cyber Monday! I bought 6 more 9mm/.40 Glock bases, and 4 in the new .45 Glock! I was pleasantly surprised that you added the .45 to your product line. Thanks for everything. Besides the obvious extra capacity, they work great, and make disassembling and cleaning the mags so much easier. I guess I have enough now, to go with the other 5 or 6 I already have. Color coded for caliber.
  14. I really like the McNally trigger. Just a tip, the front end of the assembly has all the important stuff, and you can buy that for $85.00. The back part is just stock Glock, and you already have that . Call them and talk to them about that.
  15. I shoot lots of different events, not great at any. I'm from Lower Alabama, I shoot bowling pin, point shoot, GSSF matches, 3-gun, bench rest, skeet, and trap. Have way too many different guns, and not enough time. 6 Glocks, 2 Kimbers, Kahr, LCP, LWRC rifle, Rem 700 rifles in .223 and .308, Citori, Mossberg 930, and reloading stuff for all. I learn more about all this stuff here than anywhere else. Anyway, it was time to join.
