  1. Using a Dillon Square Deal B... Just setting up for a lead 125 gr RNFP in 38 Special cases (cowboy load). I first made a noobie mistake in seating the bullet at the loading manual OAL (1.445). I've figured out I need to go to the crimping groove which is shorter than the manual OAL, so I fixed that. I've got about a + 0.015 flare. Before flaring, after sizing, the cases fit fine in a revolver cylinder. After seating the bullet to the crimp groove and crimping, there's a definite lip or edge on the top of the case. The case will not enter a test cylinder. Does that mean just keep increasing the crimp until the case will fit? Thanks
  2. I'm converting from 9mm to 38 Special for the first time. I'll be using RNFP bullets in the 38's. The conversion kit came with 3 seating dies, I for RN, 1 for maybe cone or SWC shapes, and one that looks like it's for full WC shapes i.e. just a flat nose on it. Just checking the bullet nose against each die, I can't really tell which one I should try to start with - the round nose die looks like it will hit the curve of the ogive and leave a ring; the SWC or cone shape doesn't seem to fit quite right, and the flat nose looks like it might work. Any suggestions for which one to start with? Thanks
  3. Same here. And since I got the new hundred rounder from shockbottle it is about as fast and painless as it can get. "Hundred rounder?"
  4. I'm wondering how useful a case gage is, as compared to measuring every so often with dial calipers? Yes I know it's a real quick go/no-go inspection but if something fails, I'm probably going to turn around and use the dial calipers anyway... Thx
  5. I recently decided to get back into reloading (9mm/38 Special) for target and/or noobie IDPA. Looks like this is a pretty bad time to be trying to find pistol powders?! Any suggestions for sources? I have no local shops other than a BassPro, so I think I'm reduced to Internet sites which I guess means a HazMat fee? We do get scheduled guns shows and I intent to visit those when they occur. Any ideas appreciated.
