Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. ACE silicone spray ? Can you tell me more I got a Ace next door to the range,
  2. I am using a light load 5 gr. unique with 200gr swc and I was given 1000 federal large pistol magnum primers. Any one have experience in this area? Thank you Billy
  3. somebody help me out please. My first station that decaps the old primer out and resizes is bending the decap pin every 100 shells that go through. I have gone through 6 pins so far and pulled the Dllon die out and replaced it with a Lee and so far no problems. What am I doing wrong when I set up the die that makes it bend so often? I know it is some sort of "floating pin".It wiggles alot. What is up? Thanks folks
  4. i've checked out all of the above and it still seems that the 9mm lead round nose from Oregon Trails are too fat.I think I may have to contact them with the micrometer in had and see what they say.2000 rounds that I cant use shee!
  5. they do not drop through the barrels of my 3 guns
  6. Help guys new to reloading 9mm. never had this problem with 45acp. here goes I got some laser-cast 9mm 124 gr RN .356 from Oregon Trails.I set up my Dillon 550 with their dies and mic'd the bullets as per spec. oal 1.149. They do not chamber . too fat. the same set up on my press with fmj rounds are perfect.I am missing something somewhere. these lead rounds seem to be too fat.Am I doing something wrong?I shoot a Kahr K9 and MK 9 and a Walther P99. none of these lasercast rounds go into chamber. Thanks for any help. I hope I made my self clear.
  7. good luck in Az. sure are gonna miss you at Richmond Hotshots.I just now see that you moved. too bad.
  8. semmi wad cutters from Oregon Trails relly funks up the die. with sticky waxy mixed with lead gunk. Is this the norm? How to avoid and or clean the die. Right now every 2 to 300 rounds I must remove the die and with a dental pick clean the die of the funky stuff. HELP
  9. well 9mm is one problem in my Kahr K9 and MK9 and 38 special in my S&W M37 and S&W 686 also 357 cal in the 686.when I resize on a single stage press the rounds drop right in.I have tried to adjust the Dillon Decap/size die to no avail. Thanks for all the feed back you guys.
  10. besides the bulge you discribe the Oregon Trails bullets have some sort of coating on them that really funk up the dies.I dont know if it is a lub or what . should I put the finnished bullets in the tumbler for a few hours or is there something to wipe it off with.
  11. thanks for the info catfish I think I have seen or heard a lot about the Lee crimping die before.I did not like some of there otherstuff but I may give that die a try.
  12. hey guys a little help here. I load 9mm,38/357 and I find that when I use lead, or Oregon Trails (very tacky feel to the coating they use and it gunks up the dies) my finnished rounds do not drop in the barrel.Last night I set up a resize die on a single stage press and sized the 357 rounds and they drop right in the chamber. Is this common to have to do this extra step?No problems with 45 on the Dillon 550 press the resize, prime die works fine.
  13. I got a new RCBS Powder Measure and thought it would be nice if I could use it on the 550 for 9mm or 357.It was freaken expensive and I would like to use it on my new press if possible. What do I need to set it up if possible?
  14. Everything came this last week and I set up the press with strong mount and did about 300 45 acps now we go try them at the range and see whats up.Very nice press this 550B.I am very happy and will be looking in this forum for knowledge you folks give out freely.I got a lot to learn.
  15. got a strong mount comming this week and I was wondering if any one knows if I still need 12 inches on both sides of the press or what. seems like the componets are attached and off the bench.I got a old butcher block counter top to go ontop of the table I am useing and I am trying to figure out the best placement for the press. My first Dillon by the way.I"m 55 but feel like a kid before Christmas.550 b arrived today mount is following.
