  1. I think near the beginning I was on track to do about 50 thousand or so. I ended up doing 25-30k this year.
  2. 3.4gr ETR, 147gr 9mm H&S Coated Bullet, loaded to 1.045". Similar group sizes with 147gr Extreme if I remember correctly but they are overpriced so I stopped using them.
  3. 147gr 9mm H&S Bullets, 50 yard 6 round group is 2".
  4. Honestly I like random squads the most. I've been in big boy GM and M squads, but now I enjoy just shooting with my dad, and 2 of my bestfriends and just random people who want to hop on. You meet a lot of new people and its nice to meet random people from around the country. Wyatt
  5. Solved it with a new sear. Old sear was "Worn down to a nub" (To quote Shawshank Redemption). Fixed it, gonna still put a new hammer in though. Wyatt
  6. Ok all! Here is a scenario that stumped me something fierce. To preface, this is quite and old sear, and quite an old hammer. Maybe 70k rounds kinda old. The gun is a Tanfoglio Stock 2 with the EG flat ish trigger. Gun yesterday wouldn't reset the trigger (was giving me fits). Its not a TRS, as I checked it and it has a brand new TRS. However, it was such a pain to get the gun to reset in SAO, that I couldn't drop the hammer to decock it. So, here I am trying to figure out how to pull the trigger far enough out to reset the trigger, and it won't and the gun AD's. So I figured it was a mess up on my part, thought nothing of it. Same thing happens to my dad. So we figured the hammer hooks and sear was going bad (the gun had started to go to half cock when racked violently in dry fire). Is this the correct assumption? Either way we have a new hammer and sear on their way (its past their time to be replaced). Thoughts?
  7. Diesel fuel to scrub carbon off. Disassemble gun, let soak in tote of diesel fuel overnight or for a couple hours, scrub off with brass brush. Scrub barrel out with precision rifle barrel cleaner. Run patches through until clean, oil barrel with patches. Grease slide, trigger bar, plunger, inside of firing pin channel, firing pin, hammer spring, hammer spring channel, outside of barrel, inside of slide where barrel rubs. Oil sear. Reassemble, shoot gun. I do this about every 2k.
  8. True maybe it is on the squad instead of MD. I know that at our locals when I build stages and it requires a hardcover that is gonna get shot up I always put a few under the rock next to the stage. It isn't unusual at locals to have tape blow off especially on close targets. Technically speaking by the rules its a reshoot. But in cold weather that happens almost every stage for every shooter, so I generally go with two best hits I can see (unless I watch one go into hardcover or on the side of the target).
  9. Its amazing what would fly at certain clubs and certain RO's but wouldn't fly at others. I wouldn't give a reshoot. Tape flies off when it is struck by another bullet after it has been taped on top of more tape, or at close distances where the gas from the gun blows it off. Either way, its mainly the fault of the MD. That target should've been replaced long before the last squad. No sense in being cheap when targets are what 50 cents?
  10. Assuming the target is taped after every shooter, how else would there be 3 mikes in the hardcover if it wasn't for him?
  11. Glad you like it! I don't really update here anymore, I mostly update on Doodie Project.. http://www.doodieproject.com/index.php?/topic/4596-becoming-a-deathstalker/ Wyatt
  12. I have been shooting my gun and doing slow motion with it. My gun is dipping low after a shot, suggesting from what I have heard too heavy of a recoil spring. Right now I am using an 9lb recoil spring, obviously I will order the 8lb. However, if the result is unsatisfactory would it be terrible to just clip a couple coils off of the 8lb?
  13. My Tanfo with 147 grain H&S bullets does 2" groups at 50 yards. Thats plenty accurate for me.
  14. I got a lot better. But it wasn't because of the gun. At the time I was practicing around 2-4 hours a day so mastering a double action pull was nothing. I practiced more, and got better. Its really that simple.
  15. I like the Springers and I have tried pretty much all of them. They are heavy and give the best consistent grip on the magazine, which is all I care about.
  16. On their Facebook page: Question: It would be nice to know the criteria by which slots will be awarded. Answer : Lottery with preference for A2
  17. As of 20:31 there are 40 spots available, out of the 600 that there were at the beginning of the registration process. I think its a complete question mark as to how they are doing it this year. I've heard that it won't matter what time you signed up, but that would really surprise me. I know I had my registration complete in about 15-20 seconds and I got the email from practiscore at 7:00pm on the dot, but who knows if thats enough honestly. I am not an Area 2 resident, so I am just hoping that 2 slots open for my dad and I. Wyatt
  18. Dry Fire 12-1-2016 -Worked on about 40 reps of perfect magazine grip from my mag pouch. 1st and 2nd pouches. -Reloads go nearly perfect now, with a good grip on the magazine. Every reload I messed up (I think 3-45 last night) was due to a shitty grip on the magazine. I still think getting a consistent grip every time on the magazine will help cut stage times down. I am now able to get the reload done within the first step usually (my old goal was getting a reload done within 2 steps of a position). -Worked on box steps with a paintcan in each hand, afterwards did 20 pushups. I did this 4 sets and in between did reloads and draws. This kind of caused heart rate increase and hands slipping will help a ton considering at a match I have a low heart rate and dry hands. - Need to be working out my forearms more. Its not that my grip isn't strong but I know I can be improving it. I need to be getting back to farmer carry and spring tension devices for my forearms. Wyatt

  20. Update: Snowed about 6 inches. So I built about 3200 rounds or so the last few days. Haven't been able to live fire so thats infuriating. And they have a match going on in St. George so that idea is out for this weekend. Dry Fire 11-28-2016 -Worked on reaction time to get a quicker draw. -Fastest reaction time to hit buzzer = .26s -Worked on static reloads, have to remember to tilt the gun on the specific angle for the Tanfoglio. -Distance change up, when I get a good grip thats solid and use my eyes the distance is almost neglected at about that 7-15 I can dry fire them the same. Obviously splits change but interesting note from dry fire. Dry Fire 11-29-2016 -Worked on getting reaction time quicker. -Fastest reaction time = .20s avg = .22s -Need to sharpen my focus to be on the start of the beep. Focus on it in dry fire so much that it becomes second nature in live fire. -Still need to find a consistent spot for my arm during reloading and moving forward. Dry Fire 11-30-2016 -Worked on moving reloads -7/10 first mag flawless in a row -10/10 second mag flawless in a row -Crucial to get a consistent grip on the mag. Doesn't necessarily matter where the elbow is but the grip on the mag is crucial. -Draws to strong hand are tough after 20 box jumps. -Unloaded starts need a lot of work before perfected. Wyatt
  21. 1) Depends. Before there was a lot of people buying these pistols they were a complete pain in the butt to diagnose issues for. I spent a year trying to get my gun to be reliable. I think it's easier now but still keep in mind you have to have an open mind and be patient with these things. 2) Pretty straightforward aftermarket support. Just stalk Memphis Mechanic or Atlas. 3) That's your prerogative. I think these guns are worth it over their competition. Wyatt
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=970YuzaNxKQ Shot a local match yesterday. Shot really well minus the classifier. Pulled some shots that I didn't see, but I can fix that pretty easily. I think I may have just been a little lazy on the sights. The following are direct quotes from my handwritten training journal. Things I did well: -Called shots well. -Shot on the move well when I focused on getting low into position. Almost have to do my walk throughs retardedly low to the ground to achieve maximum performance. -Splits were good with good hits. -Shot lots of alphas with few charlies. -124 A, 2B, 14C, 2D, 1NS, 2M. -1NS, 2M on classifier. Things I can work more on: -Execute shooting on the move during a match better. -Shooting 15-20 yard zebra targets at speed. (use Alpha only IPSC targets) -Reloads while running forwards. -5 yard transitions to open targets. 86% of Local Limited GM (goal was 90% blew it on classifier). Drills to do: -Reload while moving forward. (Drill 9) -Ben hoser drill (transitions?) (Drill 10, Drill 8, Drill 11) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb7hPmCqu5k&list=PL_jlYjc7R98Tv4Pd5obvkq688R4r-oO5y&index=74 something similar to this). -Shooting on the move moving directly towards a target. (Drill 9) -3-5 yard (between targets) target transitions. (Drill 10-5, 10-6, Drill 11) -Distance change up to shooting on the move. (Drill 9) Wyatt
