  1. I just asked, it'll be a .223 brake only, but you can have them bore one out to 9mm for you for $35 extra. It'll be available in about 6 weeks.
  2. Shooting Innovations ramped 14.5 barrel, American Precision Arms brake. Btw I'm also wearing the APA hat the whole match too. Even if those guys didn't make anything else their hats are amazing and I'd want them as a hat sponsor.
  3. Yeah Taran had an event come up that conflicted so he and Jade didn't end up coming. They were thinking of cramming the whole match into Friday to shoot with staff, but didn't end up coming out. Good thing, because all day Friday there was a thunderstorm and it was pouring rain.
  4. It's even easier to lurk on IG than it is here
  5. I'll post my match video to youtube and link it here and on IG. I'm way more active on IG now, messaging me there about stuff is probably your best bet. My gun ran perfectly the whole match, I just skipped a whole array of 6 targets on the third stage we shot on day 1. Just trying to make it a little more challenging for myself ? JK it was a total mental lapse, but I just didn't let it affect my attitude and kept shooting normally the whole match. On day 1 I had all stage wins (stages 1-6, 3 was thrown out) except the one I tanked so that was a nice confidence booster.
  6. My bad, I thought it was more obvious that there was spacer under the bumper on the inside. I'm surprised people are trying to get their upper and lower back together with that rod sticking out ? that will permanently lock them together unless you unscrew the buffer tube with the gun fully assembled
  7. No! The video is meant to show how to install it on a 9mm SCS. I just don't have one on hand! It only shortens the stroke by about a half inch which should stop the bolt catch from functioning but it is still WELL beyond the amount of cycle length you need to get the trigger to reset, so you should have no problems. This video is meant ONLY to explain installation on the 9mm SCS, you should never run a spring like this on the rifle SCS because a longer cycle is actually important for proper extraction and feeding with the longer .223 rounds. I took the spring out again immediately after recording the video. If you must preserve bolt catch function, you can instead get a shorter spring like the M5-M7 (I'm not sure which one it is) and do the exact same thing. It will be slightly less effective at reducing recoil but will still allow you to lock back manually.
  8. Hold up why are you guys having your SCS rod stick out further than normal?? You're supposed to put the smalley spring IN the SCS, not behind it. The overall profile of the SCS doesn't change at all once it's installed.
  9. Remove (or break, if you dont want to unscrew buffer tube) buffer detent pin. Remove hammer before installing or removing SCS. I got REALLY quick at removing my hammer and putting it back in at the range. If your hammer is low enough there may be a way where you can shove the SCS in kind of easily if you get the angle correct but getting it out is hard.
  10. The ONLY difference between the .223 and the 9mm SCS is that the 9mm weight carrier is extended to hold 4 cylinders instead of 3. This simultaneously takes care of the extra travel you gain from going from the extended .223 bolt/carrier design to the flat face one piece bolt for 9mm. You can experiment with any buffer setup as long as you know you're not getting overtravel, which will lead to the bolt's "gas key" slamming against the lower receiver or hitting the charging handle internally. Both of which can lead to gas keys shearing screws which you may have heard of.
  11. You could always run a .223 SCS and throw the M11 in there... Use 3x tungsten
  12. I believe so. When I tried shorter H springs that blocked the JP SCS travel, I noticed almost no difference. The longer mediums really seemed to make a difference for me though (M10/M11). But I think their compressed height is too long for LRBHO. I would imagine LRBHO is only important in the upcoming Pro-Am, and IDPA though. For USPSA you shouldn't ever be running out.
  13. Easy way to remember smalley springs: CS100-H7 - This is the "operates in bore" diameter, 1.00 inches. So we want 1" because that's the diameter of the buffer tube. CS100-H7 - This is the compressed force. L = Light/12lbs. We don't use that because it would be pre-compressed under the normal buffer spring weight. M = Medium/18lbs. Adds some cushioning but it's a little bouncy. I found I liked the longer M springs for shortening the SCSs. H = Heavy/25 lbs. These are more like spacers with the benefit of softening the bottom out. I run an H in my PCC with the hydraulic buffer. CS100-H7 - This is the length of the spring. It's also tied to many other things, like how many coils it has, the spring constant, compressed height, etc. H7 is the longest heavy spring they sell. M11 is the longest medium spring they sell. In general I found the longer springs to soften the recoil more.
  14. I don't know how much you suck with a dremel. I think it would be hard to f*#k up though. I use prima V, it's like $13.25/lb. And it's basically the same burn rate as N320.
  15. If you use a Smalley CS100-H5 spring instead of H7, and 1 quarter, you can fit everything in a carbine tube and still lock back. If you use the H7 in a carbine tube, I'd do a quarter and no spacer, and you won't lock back but you'll still reset the trigger. I run an A5 tube on both my rifle and PCC for increased LOP
  16. If you can single sight picture 2A at 35 why are you still experimenting. it is fun though so go ahead I guess. I will probably keep changing things forever I wouldn't ramp your barrel either unless you start getting feeding issues. Also I like a fast powder for snappier recoil. User preference. You won't see any benefit in compensator pressure or anything. Recoil will just feel a bit slower.
  17. No, mechanically it works perfectly. It will only bump if that's user-induced.
