I had an awesome time shooting this match. Big thank you to the whole crew and everyone who helped put this match together. Beautiful range and amazing stages, they were exactly the kind of 3 gun stages I like. Most importantly the food was great too. Looking forward to next year.

Are there any AR lowers that P mags just click right in smooth and effortless like a pistol? I had an incident last weekend where I didn't push it in hard enough on a closed bolt and the mag fell out on the ground. I was pretty embarrassed because I pride myself on all my equipment running 100% all the time.

So because I coulden't find exactly what I want I decided to make it myself. I ordered some kydex sheets from amazon and took the locking system out of the Safariland holster. I baked the kydex and came up with this. I'm pretty happy with it, the gun comes out smooth and doesn't get any scratches on it. No shavings on the front sight either. It took about two hours to make it and was kinda fun.

I tried the Safariland 578-683 but wasn't really happy with it after some dry fire practice. The problem was some of the shell was shaving off and getting all over the front sight. I was kinda worried it would jam the gun so I sanded it hoping it would help but it didn't. You can see in the picture where it was shaving and I tried to sand it

I'm just scared my fancy new gun might rust. After I throw it in a bucket a few times though I won't care anymore.

You have to take it outside and shoot something over it like an arrow or a bullet. Its not made for throwing stuff over. Mine works perfectly when I shoot over it but if I through something over it nothing happens.

The right tool for the job to get the cap out is a pair of snap ring pliers. You can use just about anything comma some guys use a big bolt about a half inch, screw it in and pull the Bold out with pliers. You could probably also just use a flat screwdriver if you're careful and pry it out. Be careful because the spring will jump right out. Wear safety glasses! Theres nothing special in the manual. It's a pretty simple gun.

Update: The gun is an STI Apreio with a full length dust cover. I got this holster http://www.amazon.com/Safariland-578-683-551-Pro-Fit-Holster-Slide/dp/B00UTMDGI2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 I had to cut about a half inch off of the release lever and cut a notch out of the back of the holster to clear the mag release. Also had to install the shim that comes with the holster. It's not a snug fit, the gun does wiggle around a little bit but it does not come out without using the release. It also does not AD the trigger with the safety off (no ammo in the gun just testing it for safety reasons, relax keyboard safety nazi's). I'm pretty happy with it Im probably gonna add some kydex to the bottom to keep the barrel out of the dirt if I have to shoot sitting.

Hi Jack, They run good but the problem is a couple are really hard to seat and they don't drop free. This is my first 2011 and I really don't know much about them. The mags are brand new from Brownells, the gun is used and has 1800 rounds through it.

Does it come with anything to shape the body of the mag? Mine are too big front to back.

What gun do you have? I have the newer M3K, I opened it up by copying off of the pictures on this page http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=173219&page=113 I don't have any pictures of it because almost everyone in this thread posted pictures of theirs. I don't think it really helped me load any faster.
