  1. Brian has a transition drills, right? It comes in two parts, search here. It will help you to get your transition faster if you are not fast enough.
  2. Mental rehearsal. Think about how you are going to shoot the stage, as many times as needed so you can run it smoothly in your head. it will make you shoot the stage to your current skill level.
  3. about 3/4 of the USPSA target size, 3 shots max at a distance, if you can make one hit out of three, go 10 yards further. I went out to 90 yards.
  4. Treat classifiers just as a normal stage. And think like this, it should be a normal stage, this is how you would shoot it anyway, not sandbagging or grandbagging.
  5. My number one recommendation is to find private training. This will help to diagnose your problems and areas that you can improve right away. You can get there by reading books or watching DVDs, figuring out stuff by yourself. But private training will get you there faster, cost is an issue.
  6. My favorite is Firearms Nation by Arik levy. Content is the best. Shooter's mindset has too much unrelated stuff giving away time.
  7. Consciously tell yourself to run crazy during training. Get excited, be nervous in some sense, pumped up, and you will go fast. lol
  8. GM standards are probably less than 2.5 consistently. I have seen people do it under 2 sec. It sounds crazy fast for less than 2 sec.
  9. Looking good. It does seem that you practice this a lot. Your draw mag very consistently across the belt. I am not sure if this drill is extremely helpful though. Most of the times we only reload twice or three times for Prod.
  10. Just one time or consistently? I do not have access to a texas star except in matches. But guessing would be around 3.5 on the faster side.
  11. Do not lock your elbow. Grip the gun with your hands, there shouldn't be much if any tension on your upper arms.
  12. Book one is just mostly simple drills. If you are a newbie, it's worthwhile to get an idea on the simple drills, follow up a bit to improve.
  13. accuracy is number one most important thing. Make sure you can hit stuff first. Then maybe try some bill drill .
  14. I found two parts to be crucial in a fast reload. one is to make sure you can consistently drop the mag. Next is to consciously speed up your support hand movement. Do not hesitate to get the mag out from the pouch. This is only the reload part, getting a good grip after reload is even more important though.
  15. Maybe try some pro grip or those liquid grip stuff. They mess up your hands, but you sure do get a good grip out of it.
  16. Well, if your hands are cold, then your fingers can't move freely. That's just nature. Get some hot hands packs from Amazon and put them in your pockets.
  17. Try a metronome? I think this is mentioned here somewhere by a few people, eventually you will get quicker splits.
  18. Always heard that shooting a dot can help you with your shooting iron sights. Not sure if this is actually true. But if you do switch, make sure to try it out for an extensive period of time.
  19. Elbows are never locked. There should not be much if any tension on the upper arms. in Summary, hold the gun with your hands, not your arms.
  20. Large if you are using rangecart. But for uspsa/idpa only, medium is big enough.
  21. usually 300 to 400 rounds, depending on my mood, or what I was trying to accomplish that day
  22. Perfect time for weak hand training. You will be glad you practiced.
  23. Learn from your DQ's to make sure it doesn't happen for the same reason again! I have been DQ'ed a few times but no two for the same reason lol.
  24. train to have your eyes and your gun follow the targets, in most cases, rather than put the gun at a specific point waiting for the targets.
  25. Usually top to bottom in most cases. You shoot the bottom ones first and it's gonna spin crazy.
