  1. Ramshot's book says for plated 147gr PLATED bullet is 2.6gr starting and 3.0gr max. I started doing 2.6, 2.8 and 3.0 none could cycle my stock glock 34. i looked at the primers and there was no sign of overpressure at 3.0gr grains. So then i went to 3.2 and 3.4 and still could not cycle and no signs of overpressure. At this point accuracy was starting to get better as well. I stopped at 3.6gr at 1.135 OAL when the gun cycled 100% with no signs of overpressure on the primer. I've loaded over 10,000 loads with this data. 147gr Xtreme plated round nose 3.6gr Ramshot comp 1.135 OAL mixed brass tula, win, fed, and cci primers used.
  2. So i bought a Vibra Prime and got a primer stuck in the primer tube and won't come out. I called up Frankford Arsenal to get BUY a replacement tube...but the customer service person said the tube is most likely out of spec due to a bad batch of tubes. They took my address down to send over the replacement. I open the box and they send me a whole new vibra prime and tubes!!! Hmm time for me to buy a frankford tumbler now!
  3. I tried 3.0 grains of clays with a plated 147gr at 1.135 and found it lacking in accuracy. Switched to ramshot competition and haven't looked back. I heard clays is great with 45acp tho.
  4. FYI - my current load is 3.6gr of RS Competiton at 1.135 OAL with a xtreme 147gr RN bullet. i tried 2.8gr first but wouldn't cycle. tried 3gr and then 3.2 and 3.4 until at 3.6 it finally cycled. i run a stock glock 34 with a stock spring
  5. there is no best press. each one has their pros and cons. i went from a 550 to a 650 and i love the faster speed because of the indexing. i use my 550 for volume 223 now only. here's my cons below. case feeder is $$$ tool head moves to much i get alot more OAL variance then my 550. even with a bearing kit i still get plate skip causing powder to spill. i have to manually hold the case and slow it down as it indexes. more things to go wrong pros - faster if it all goes well.
  6. i have extreme 147's and used both dillon and lee seater dies. never had that problem with an OAL of 1.135
  7. 3.6gr of wst with 147gr plated at 1.145 oal worked very well in my glock 34.
  8. Helping a buddy out with his new 40 setup. I load 9mm and 223 only. I am giving him 1lb of HP-38 to try out and he will go with xtreme plated bullets. My question is should he go with 155, 165, or 180gr bullets with HP38? anyone got any good HP38 loads they would like to share please list OAL and crimp too.
  9. I've tried WST in xtreme bullets and they were very accurate for me in my stock Glock 34 barrel. Pictured below is a 5 shot group of xtreme 147gr bullets at 7 yards. i think the key is the not to over crimp...my crimp is .377-.378
  10. that $700 is not a great price. you can get lucky on sale for $85/100...rare but can happen usually its $10/100
  11. thanks i'll try cutting a lil bit of the coil. yeah i keep a magnet stick in my tool bag just in case!
  12. So i've greased up the shell plate area and installed a "bearing" kit. It's a little better but the plate still jumps a bit. will the dillon realignment tool help or should i try cutting a spring coil off?
  13. are you happy with the results or have you guys went with another brand?
  14. I have a custom 9mm build with a spike's 16 inch barrel with an A2 flash hider. I run a Burris Fastfire 2 optic on it. My load for this was 4.4gr of HP38 with 124gr Xtreme plated bullets at 1.115OAL. I recommend loading long. This was was 10 rounds at 50 yards.
  15. Setup on dillon 550 station 1 thru 4. Dillon resizing die Dillon powder die Redding match seater die Dillon crimp die
