Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. The new parts have issues as well. We went through 3 of them in no time. Some day maybe a better metal will be in the works from them. Glad we made our own
  2. They break just at the point where the 2 upper ears meet the solid body. The 2 ears (Sides) crack through from the rear to the front. If one breaks, you know it. You will be shut down until you have a new one. I will see about getting a pic of one tomorrow. I have 1 that has started to crack, all the rest went to the scrap yard. We have been busy at the shop so I haven't had time to take a pic, load it and upload it. People who have had the issue know what it is, and if yours breaks, you will know
  3. All the broken ones have been trashed and we have resolved the issue with a higher strength material. They fail just below the upper pin holes where the 2 "Ears" come together to a solid material. Dillon just says "Your machine is set up wrong" and didn't warranty anyone's parts that I know, even if the parts failed in as little as 3 weeks.
  4. No cam over in the 1050. The handle should come down easy with no pressure when set up and no brass in it. If you feel resistance when empty. dies are touching the plate. If you add brass and get resistance at the bottom of the stroke, the swager may be to blame. I would set the swager lightly and test by priming a case. Measure the heads on your Ballistic Tools Gauge as well. Maybe you got one that is bad. I use their stuff all the time and have never seen a bad part from them, but maybe you got one that is out of spec. The true test is in priming.
  5. Are you using the right end of the Ballistic Tools Swage Gauge? One end is a go gauge, the other will tell you if you are over swaging. The smaller of the 2 ends is the one that should fit in the case, not the bigger end. Just a thought.
  6. All the presses in question are out of their 1yr Warranty Licensed reloaders and brass processors are the main people having issues. The new link arms have failed in as little as 3 weeks, and are now hand engraved with a date on them. Makes me wonder if they had a bad run of parts? There was a thread here about it awhile back, and there were tons of others with the same issue. I can google the thread, but can't find it here in a search No mods to the presses in question. No auto drives or anything
  7. Wanted to see if anyone else has been having an issue with broken Link Arms on the 1050. I have had/seen/heard of over 40 of them failing in the last 3 months. Just wanted to see if anyone here is experiencing this issue and what response they got from Dillon about it
