pick up a dillon 650. look for used but you could a get new one around your budget and add a case feeder when the budget allows. it's a great press, you will NEVER-EVER find better cutomer support than dillon.

i've used clays for years . clean, meters well. 4.2 gr behind 200 gr. moly coated runs real reliable. it's all i ever loaded. worked, no reason to experiment.

i know masterblaster is gone...again. i heard there is a company that bought their equipment and is making moly coated. precision is up to $100 a 1k even though lead prices are down. i was just trying to see if this new maker was less than precision. i had good results with master's stuff for a while, just trying to save a little coin. anybody got any info on less expensive moly bullets?

Was it 230gr WWB? If so that's pretty surprising since it would only need to be going 720fps to make major....which is really slow for factory ammo. I'm not doubting it, just find it surprising. R, i was very surprised they ran that slow. we gave 8 rounds, one was taken apart for bullet weight and three were averaged for power factor. they ran 163-164. he kept shooting and the last round before he would have been shooting minor brought it up to 165.0?. it was that close. i honestly don't remember if they were 200 or 230 grain.

a buddy of mine shot wwb at a state match and he barely made power factor. if the last of his 8 rounds hadn't been a little hotter than the others, he would not have made it. yopu may want to chrono it before any big match.

alot of right handed shooters have a tendency to shoot left, especially low left as they are anticipating the recoil and push. a good drill is to have someone else load your gun, sometimes with a couple of rounds(so you can't feel much weight difference) and sometimes empty. watch your front sight as you squeeze and see if it dips on the empties. you'll be surprised.

in major a=5, b and c=4, d=3 points. in minor a=5, b and c=3, d=1. it's only a diadvantage if you miss the a. some shooters who load their own are bumping 9mm up to make major, mostly open shooters, but i understand that's a handful without a comp.

i shoot a kimber target match in single stack. i have had only one dealing with kimber's tech and he was a little tough but i think their market is not what we do. i don't think they like the idea of all the custom work that we do to our guns. but i'm happy with the gun. it would be nice if they looked at us a little better but like merlin said it's a tool for our game. shoot 'em if ya' got 'em!

i fought wad cutters for quite awhile. i like the big holes with my old eyes. i have an L-10 gun and now a single stack in.45 acp. i got the smiley face on the projectile, but the cause may be the same. the change i made on both guns, and they run great is the barrel link. i went one size shorter. this allows the barrel to lay on the frame a little longer before the bushing starts it up into battery. you may have to go shorter yet with where the crease on yours is . also, i run my aol at 1.270". polish the frame and barrel ramps. anything you can do to get the square edge into the chamber before the barrel lifts off the frame will help.

that is very cool. i read somewhere that the steel from the towers went to some japaneese recycling firm. it is a lasting tribute that at least some of it fights on.

i had the slide lightened on my L10 gun, it's an old colt. the smith tri-topped the slide, serrated the center flat drilled and counter sunk ports on both sides and took some weight out of the inner slide back around the extractor area and the same on the other side of the slide. i have to agree on the "cool" factor. it really made the gun look good. i also use a tungston rod. it feels flatter, less felt recoil. makes sense though, less reciprecating mass and more stationary mass should keep the barrel down. it wasn't night and day but it certainly was a noticable difference.

i'm going to be shooting single stack some this year and i'm prepping a new gun. i am used to my L10 gun which i have pinned the grip safety. i can't find anything in the rulebook that disallows that. anybody got any other info on pinning the grip safety?

i have one on a kimber target match that i'm shooting in ss. i have one on my L10 gun with an extended "paddle". the kimber has nice checkered grips that i didn't want to file. i have to rotate the grip a little more than my L10 gun, but it is much easier to reach than stock. if i fumble much, i'll file the grip to clear the paddle, but at least i have that option.

i have an assortment of usgi mags and am beginning to have some feed problems. there are no dents in the cans. i was looking for some opionions. would i be better off buying mag-pul or some other aftermarket followers and wolff, ismi springs or just chuck 'em all and get new for about twice the price of rebuilding? any experience with similar problems?

i'm thinking of getting a clay thrower to work on my shotgun skills. anybody out there have one they love or hate? i'm looking at $200-$300 range. thanks

i just started a couple years ago and did't shoot to win anything. this was an exciting new way to improve my skills. i also enjoy the people at the matches. i had a 1911 and it has evolved from the beginning but i like L-10. it's not quite a "carry" weapon class, which makes it more fun, but it's not far from it which improves my skills in case it's not a match i'm shooting. i hope it stays, i'm glad to hear others agree. like i said, if it goes, i'll shoot limited with the L-10 gun, i won't sell it because i didn't buy it just to compete. thanks to everyone that responded. how can i make my feelings about this class known to the voting body?

with the new single stack class, i'm afraid limited 10 may be going away. i've even heard the area 6 shoot won't have a L-10 class. anybody heard anything reliable? any thoughts from other L-10 shooters?

i've reloaded and shot ipsc handgun for 2 years now and starting into 3-gun. i have a dillon 650 with .223 dies and shoot a jp w/ 20" supermatch barrel and cooley comp. i'd like to hear what you guys are reloading as i don't know where to start. i'm looking for a good all around load for out to around 200-300 yards. any suggestions?
