  1. The one with no hammer spur is the warp speed.
  2. Little off topic, but does anyone remember the Magpack mags from the 80's that had the lead weight between the bottom of the mag and the screw-on basepad? Those suckers would jump out of the gun.
  3. My experience with my 9mm Spartan has been the same as EKU's. I added a Dawson maxwell, Brown ambi, skateboard tape, & run Dawson mags. Perfect running gun. I just ordered a Briley aluminum guide rod to make weight, & have a Dawson .100 FO front I need to install. I prefer the non ramped barrel, after all its a minor PF gun.
  4. Accurate Plating & Weapomry. They can do several lusters. I prefer matte on top & polished on the flats.
  5. I did a google search and found Briley. Who else makes an aluminum full length guide rod?
  6. How is the 3000 different from the 2000? Please don't say it is 1000 better!
  7. Brownells 8rd. mags, until they were backordered for several months. I tried the Metalform 8rd. mags from Midway, and they are the exact same mag. Brownells was tight-lipped about who the maker was, but it was pretty evident when comparing them. I use 6-7 Safariland kydex mag pouches turned vertical. These pouches are nearly 20 years old and long discontinued, but work great. I think they were model 077. I use a Bladetech holster from when they were handmade one at a time from a thick gauge kydex. All on a CR Speed belt. I like the Metalform/Brownells mag for the stainless steel follower that won't get chewed up like the Wilson plastic follower. Built to be a lifetime mag.
  8. Midway has M&P 9mm mags in stock. Just got a couple.
  9. Rich, what would you charge to do that?
  10. I tied a short length of para cord to the legs. I grab one leg and pull it down, the cord get pulled tight and pulls the other leg down with it. Picked it up on an early episode of 3GN, M. Voigt had a tip on it.
  11. I've been using Fiocchi SR primers all year. Come 1500 in a box. I ordered 10,500 the day after Sandy Hook. Work as well as any domestic brand I've tried. I still love Federals if I can find them.
  12. I like shooting my Spartan and thinking of all the money I saved. Can buy lots of reloading components. If they would make a 40 Spartan, I'd be all over it.
  13. Threads a little old, but just found it. That brass looks like old Norinco brass I used to find at the range. It was really soft brass, and would bulge when fired. When ran thru the sizer, it would leave a ring just like the pics. AMERC brass does the same thing. OP, what is the headstamps on the brass?
  14. i use 8.4 gr. under a MG 121 at 1.185". I get ~175pf. That's thru a 5.5" KKM barrel. I started at 7.8 & worked up.
  15. I was looking at the 650 page in my latest Blue Press, & did not see the powder die mentioned in the description of the quick change. But, my question was well answered here! Thank you. I bought 1000 small primer 45acp brass so I could use the SR primers that I use in my open gun. Plus I won't have to fool with the priming setup on the press. I did order the large pistol case feed plate, good call on that. I forgot I needed 2 #3 locator buttons that I've lost somehow. Oh, we'll next time.
  16. I'm getting ready to order a complete conversion for my 650 in 45 ACP. I need the conversion kit and quick change. The picture shows the measure already mounted in a powder die, on a tool head. Confused because the description does not mention the powder die being included in the quick change. Do I need to order a powder die also? PS. I already have my dies.

  18. I had a Meopta K Dot, not the newer Z Dot. The reticle was super bright, like C-more bright. I struggled getting my hits at distance because I never put in the time behind the scope. It does not have a BDC reticle per se, but I know users that can hit with it out to distance. It was hella stout, I would definitely feel comfortable putting it on a work gun. The Z Dot has chevrons for distance, but I have no experience with how well they work. I would check on a more tactically oriented website if you are looking for a combat worthy glass. There is a difference in what is suitable for a game optic and a work optic. Some times they overlap, like the Meopta, but usually not. Like the PA 1-6. I would probably not put that on my work rifle. Are you looking for a game optic, paper punching, or to go in harms way?
  19. Spartan's don't have ramped barrels. The Trojan does. The Trojan 40 had a reputation for the steep ramp, I never could get my 40 to run no matter what length of ammo I tried. My Spartan 9mm with the standard barrel has fed everything I have tried, round nose, flat point, hollow point. Can't over emphasize, GET GOOD MAGS!
  20. The Burris XTR14 is a solid 1-4 variable, American made. They can be found for around $500-$600 used. Illumination is daylight visible with stacked 2016 batteries, BDC reticle is good out to 600 (as far as I've shot mine, it has hash out to 800). SFP reticle.
  21. Sorry, I just saw this post. I found my Pro slide on gunbroker. I think I gave around $200 for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  22. Since you have used the 15# main, did you change any of the other ignition components like firing pin, hammer? Does it fire 100% or did you experience light primer strikes. I am considering to put 15# but mindful that Im not changing any other parts at the moment. With the 15# M/S, I use Federal SP primers. With a 17#, I can use any SP primers. With a 19#, I can use SR primers. You can also get a long firing pin from Dawson to aid with reliable ignition. I run one in my open gun with a 15# M/S and rifle primers. With the current setup of 15# M/S and 10# recoil and Federal SP primers, Dawson 10rd. mags, my Spartan has been 100% reliable. My Spartan came with a 9rd. Metalform mag that has the groove down the front of the tube, the so-called "Springfield" mag. It has worked too, but I only use it for the Barney round at Make Ready.
