  1. I prefer my steel LimPro. The weight just soaks up recoil, and the tuned trigger is just a pleasure to shoot. But that is the same reasons EAA's are popular for production too. But I had to do a lot to my LimPro to get it the way it is. The Canik is really close right out of the box. I think any of the plastic guns set up for an optic like the MOS, Core, etc. will be similar. The Canik trigger is way ahead of the Glock in my opinion, out of the box. Glock triggers can be great, but is will cost a little.

For 125-135pf ammo, a lighter recoil spring & striker spring is a must. I use a 6# Glock striker & 15# Glock recoil on a tungsten guide rod. Perfect.
  3. 23 if you swap the spring/follower to Grams.
  4. All 9mm bolts, other than Olympic Arms, are Colt compatible. They can also be Glock compatible if the are cut for it. I have a standard lower with RRA bottom load mag block. I recommend it. I also have a dedicated Colt style PSA lower that works superbly. When PSA had Metalforms all the time for $12-$20, it was a no-brainier.
  5. I was thinking about using them on 40 mags for limited. No Pmags in 40.
  6. I asked here last year & got no responses. I was concerned about length & fitting the gauge.
  7. Right. I couldn't change the recoil spring until I changed the striker spring. Slide stays in battery with this setup.
  8. I had an LDA 18 9mm. The trigger is very revolver like, long, with a long reset. I didn't care for it, sold it pretty quickly.
  9. Taylor Freelance. They are like Hennings, except instead of a spring loaded detent to retain the pad, TF uses a hex screw. Less expensive than Henning, finished nicely, quick shipping, & very supportive of the sport. Go ahead & get the Grams spring kit with them, you'll get 23 reloadable, but they won't lock back when empty.
  10. If you can try them, that would be my suggestion. Do you want a turn key set up, or do you want to do a lot of modding or send it off to be worked on? The EAAs can be real nice, and I love my Limited Pro, but it was a lot of work getting it there. CZ is a little more refined I am told. Glocks have the largest aftermarket support, but if they don't work for you, disregard. I'm digging my Canik TP9SFX, but they are new without a long term track record. The Sig 320 was a front runner until the whole "don't drop it" thing. I wouldn't let that scare you from it.
  11. The first shot does not have to be DA, but the hammer has to be decocked. You could thumb cock it after the start.
  12. Holes go all the way through, as yours appear to do. Not legal.
  13. I had the same feed ramp jams with PD 124 JHP & either old style mags. Too bad, nice bullets for the cost.
  14. I switched to MG 124 CMJ bullets. Best feeding profile, non-exposed base so no lead in the comp. Problem solved. The Everglades Ammo competition JHP bullets look good with the rounded profile, I may try some. I use old style SV & STI.
  15. I'd be surprised if Buds actually has those LimPros in stock. Once word got out that they weren't being imported any longer, they dried up quickly. They only ones I see online are 45s & the occasional 40. If they have 9mms, buy it.

I wonder if you could screw it in for make ready, then take it off before the buzzer.
  17. I store mags in the flat fishing tackle boxes that have the little dividers that slide out. I have 8 or 9 for different guns stacked on the bottom shelf of my bench. Match day, they come out of the box & go in my shooting bag. The cloth pouches that hold 8 from Midway are ok, but don't stack well if you have several guns' mags to store, & the strap gets in the way.

Oh, I thought you had one. The Canik TP9SFX comes with several plates to mount various red dots. The plates have holes on either side that accept a knurled slide racker. The racker is included with the gun, & is in a little tool kit in the box. And Troy said it is not legal to use in CO or Production. He said 21.6 & 22 of the Appendix for each division.

Troy said no go on the factory slide racker. He quoted 21.6 & 22 in the Production & CO Appendix.
  20. Troy just responded. The Sig brace, Shockwave, and any brace marketed as a brace is not considered a stock regardless of what it's mounted on or what ATF defines as a stock. I am now more knowledgeable of the matter. He did not elaborate on the intent.

Spent couple hours reading rules for both divisions. It says no modifications not specifically authorized. Until this gun, I'm not aware of any factory gun with an included slide racker, so to add one was to make a non-specified modification. Since it would not be a modification to use this one, it may be legal, I think? I asked someone more rules knowledgeable than me, & he said "ask Troy." I was earlier parroting the "slide rackers only in open & limited" I had heard. I just asked Troy. Hope he says yes, it'd be just like my open gun.
  22. We don't need to ban them on pistols, we've already banned pistols in PCC. That's my point, if they aren't on a pistol, they're a stock.

The slide racker. Not legal in production or carry optics.

Sorry, it's not legal for anything but limited & open. Are you shooting CO or production?
  25. I just sent my first ever question to Troy, let you know what he says.
