  1. If it is beyond your skill level don't do it.
  2. The rule is to not release the slide until the round ejects. Operator error.
  3. Again shooter was standing in a shooters box. It was just an AD, he just touched the trigger to hard. Coming from a draw. The round hit the ground well over ten feet out, unmeasured.
  4. When I told the RO it was not a DQ he got a bit aggressive and since the shooter did not want to challenge it I let it go. But is was a bad call and I told them so. RO said it was unsafe gun handling. The bad part is the RO is a match director at another range.
  5. It was a classifier shot from a box.
  6. I don't k ow what was put down as a reason. But I am an RO and it was well over 10 foot, besides without measuring it how can you DQ?
  7. At a recent match a competitor at the buzzer, draws and has an AD that hits the ground well over ten feet out, it was not measured. The RO calls a DQ. What is your call?
  8. lame stage, I come to shoot. I went to a match once 6 stages and when we were done we had fired less than 50 rounds. Never went back.
  9. I started loading to 10mm length because that is what fit the magazine. Loading issues went away. I am playing with the idea of using the spacers from my 9mm mags to see if that works with factory ammo. I shoot a 2011 EDGE.
  10. Your right I am loading 1.2 and have had no problems, to bad it is the end of our shooting season. I'll do better next year.
  11. Since 10mm fits in the mags, why not load to that length?
  12. Getting ready to load for my STI Edge .40 S&W. I will be loading 180gr TC plated bullets. I hear people talk about loading long but for what reason? And if you load long how long?
  13. I concur this week I got an Edge and a new holster to go with it, also I replaced my mag springs and followers with grams. So far things have been working well.
  14. If I get one Mike or no shoot in a match I had a bad day. Is the one Mike or NS a match usually in the Classifier? Usually no, but if my gun or ammo FTF it happens at the classifier. Maybe my draw is to slow, I have upgraded my gun and holster this week. We will see if it helps tomorrow.
  15. From the USPSA FAQ page (http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-faq-details.php) "In addition, if the competitor shoots an Area Championship or major tournament and wins first or second in a class higher than his or her current classification, the member may be promoted to that higher class, except for Grand Master." I'm not looking for a shortcut. I was just wondering what you guys did to improve your classifier scores.
  16. Dry fire is good, missing is not the problem. If I get one Mike or no shoot in a match I had a bad day.
  17. So I am a Limited B class shooter who places among the A and Master class shooters at matches. Stuff just happens at the classifier stages. Short courses are not my thing. So what is the best thing I can do to move into A Class?
  18. Do you store your magazines loaded or unloaded between matches? And why?
  19. Stock STI, Dawson basepads
  20. What springs do you recommend?
  21. What are the issues you get from weak magazine springs?Imbalance in slide speed and round presentation from the magazine. The first sign of worn/weak mag springs is typically FTL and/or jams involving the last few rounds in the magazine. When you start getting these failures...take note. Sounds like what I am experiencing.
  22. What are the issues you get from weak magazine springs?
  23. So how often do you replace magazine springs in your STI mags? I have been getting some FTF in a gun that has been very reliable for 5 years. I have changed the recoil spring and the problem persists.
